Dark Frontier TV-Movie: Thoughts and First-Time Recollections

I dl not know if you mean me when you said "what is wrong with you" or not. And for the record the only reason I sent the pm was to clear the air instead of doing it on the board itself and risk a flame war. I had assumed a Mod would approve of that but this one didn't.
I did not ask for him to be so rude to me. I just wanted to talk about Dark Frontier. Thank you for your time and post.

I think we should make it clear that Sandoval isn't a mod...and that by discussing PMs in public he leaves himself wide open as far as sanctions go...

Dark Frontier has flaws...the climax, with Janeway pointing a rifle at the Borg Queen...yeah there's a bit of the old Jeri-Taylor-Brand-Janeway-Sue there, but it's forgivable I think...

First time I saw it, it was on BBC 2 and it had been split into a 2 parter, it's only now - years later - that I got the DVD and finally saw it as was intended!

All this animosity for calling someone on their temper tantrum!

The OP should be thanking me for kick-starting their thread, look how popular it is now!

I feel so under-appreciated...
No, he shouldn't be thanking you. You also get an infraction for trolling.
Matt don;t be bumping threads with a BUMP post. If somebody has something they want to say on the topic they will. Thanks.
Come on! Surely out of the 40 who have viewed this topic, there is somebody out here who wants to contribute?
You do realise that shouting "Come on!" and making rather pathetic statements like the one quoted gives you the appearance of a petulant child stamping your feet because no one is giving you attention don't you?

In fact I bet seeing that someone has replied to your topic and excitedly clicking on your thread, only to find this post and not a much-anticipated contribution about Dark Frontier will only fuel your little tantrum.

Oh well...

You're the one who sounds like a petulant child. Is your custom-made Picard Uniform riding too tightly up your ass, making you uncomfortable? Maybe got some sand in your vagina?

I'm tired and people are tired your trolling bullcrap, you think you have to sit on here and and act like your God of the forum all knowing. people can't even have a decent discussion without you coming in with your grammar nazi hammer, and godlike correction of what everyone says because the human race is imperfect compared to you.

Let the mods deal with you and if you want to continue to be such a dick than that's your problem.
Infraction for flaming given. Don't respond to posts you feel are flaming / trolling doing the same. It will only get you an infraction as well. Thanks.
What are you?

Some sort of ill-tempered child who throw their toys around because people aren't replying to your threads as quickly as you'd like?

You're a fucking faggot dude.
Infraction for flaming given. Pretty self explanatory I think.

I'd give you another infraction for trolling, but I think one a thread is good enough for now. Knock it off.

Now if I can actually have a actual discussion about the topic with that aside, Dark Frontier is a amazing episode. It really had a epic sci-fi plot and I consider it to be one of the best episodes of Voyager ever. Bringing back the Borg Queen as a villain and having her confront Seven Of Nine after her unique changes and joining the crew was just a great piece of story right there. It was like those plotlines where your apprentice or henchman becomes good and then confronts their boss later on.

I thought the Voyager crew really defeated the Borg in one of the greatest manors since first contact. Voyager itself fighting the tactical cube when in Trek Lore federation ships vs cubes were severely disadvantaged and hopeless, while the Voyager crew really showed their stuff with only moderate damage and showing the Borg their stuff. Also the shielding on the shuttle and the bioshielding or whatever were even more tools to outbest the Borg. It just felt like a epic action movie all the way through and I just really enjoyed Dark Frontier even though i've only seen it once, makes me really need to see it again soon.

I believe Dark Frontier is even a more positive episode than Endgame. Endgame spends too much time focusing on the sad futures of those who did not make it back-thus affecting those who did. Dark Frontier is an amazing odyssey and journey that I simply enjoyed watching. My mum enjoyed it as well.

Dark Frontier would have made a more satisfying finale...

Yes, with a little addition at the end, perhaps it could be a perfect finale. Voyager beats the Borg and their Queen AND gets 7of9 back.

don't like the whole retcon of the Borg Queen. Picard says in "FC" that she was "unique," and they make a big deal about her being dead. This episode implies she was just a shell for a continuing personality.

Great effects, though, movie-quality.

That is one thing I have against the episode, friend Sonak. They resurrect the Queen with no explanation given on how she survived her encounter(s) with Jean-luc Picard.

True enough, so they kind of work their way around that. But the fans know and maybe they would like to have some connection made to the film.
Plus, when the Queen tells 7 about their failed attempt at assimilating humanity, she only refers to one attempt at striking at the earth, I believe.

At the end of the day it's conceivable that if a Queen was so important to the Borg that it caused all those on the Enterprise to die when she was killed, then the Borg would have a back-up...

Well the DF Borg Queen is definitely a separate entity from the DF Borg Queen...

One theory I've heard is that they represent different "models" utilised by the collective for different reasons, so the situation after FC suggested the need for a reappraisal and the DF/UZ Queen was activated, but after she blew up all those ships in UZ, the Borg Collective re-evaluated and reactivated an FC model Queen...

But we see 2 FC model Queens and 2 DF model Queens in Star Trek...

Oh yes. I forgot about UZ.So is the Queen really dead after Endgame and can the Borg survive without her?
The books tend to differ on the subject.

I enjoyed it first time round as a bit of action fluff. Has not stood up to repeated viewing though.

Perhaps so. As with most epic stories, repeated viewings lose something in the wash I find.
Btw who is that girl in your avatar?

The girl in Starman's avatar is the Borg Queen before she was assimilated. As you can see she was a weak and slack jawed humanoid before she attained perfection.
