Dan Castellaneta + Genie = Blue Homer?

I could have sworn that, once upon a syndicated Disney Afternoon, Genie went for the obvious joke and turned very briefly into a blue Homer Simpson. I have never seen this joke again, and have not seen reference to it anywhere.

Now, before giving up and shrugging it off as imagined, I had one last thought : Toon Disney is so timid on all levels, this gag, if it ever existed, has long since been excised due to legal worries. So--does anyone else out there remember this gag?

Hmmm... I used to love Return of Jafar and watched it a lot when I was 8-12 years old and I don't remember a Homer gag (unless it was excised from the UK video?)

There was that Aladdin tv series at the same time as RoJ though - could have been that.

I only ever saw Return of Jafar on video, so I guess it wasn't on there then. I don't think I ever watched the series properly though.

There were a lot of sequels weren't there. I still swear Family Guy's Aladin 5: Jafar May Need Glasses was greenlit.

Yes, but it's worth noting that Castellaneta recorded all of the dialogue for the movie before Disney secured Robin Williams to return as the voice of Genie.

Something else : Did they ever explain why Genie seemed to fall victim to 'Reformed Evil Ranger Syndrome', vis-a-vis his power levels? As the series went on, it seemed like there was no one who couldn't kick his blue butt.

As I remember it he lost a lot of his power when he was freed.
