Dalek Psychokenesis.

So according to "Death to the Daleks" our good friends the Daleks are propelled about by their force of mind psychokentically. Dalekanium probably ain't light so it's impressive that the classic Daleks can just rove about like a hover craft, taking this into account, honestly what do we think about the NUDaleks capacity for flight?

Lighter armour/travel units or stronger psychokinesis?

Consider if the stronger pschokinetic field is the force field we saw at work in season ones titular episode Dalek? That would mean that the so called "pepper pot" is a medium level regular endoskeleton of the Dalek organism and that the invisible psychokinetic field is in effect a visceral continuation the actual "body" of he Dalek past the metal travel unit? If so, then Daleks are partially/mostly non corporeal. Perhaps huge. Would the interlapping and congressional intersecting of these pschokinetic fields might be the basis of Dalek sex?

Daleks ain't nice. I doubt they ask. A culture of rape. I doubt they feel victimized since they're too obnoxious to acknowledge being abused and that they're equal opportunity abusers which would zero-sum out to '"consent" but spot this...On Skaro, it's an orgy 24/7.

Now what if that's not completely disgusting because the Daleks psychokinetic fields are not invisible to each other, but in fact if you (like they) can see more of the spectrum than mere human sight, that Daleks could have rainbow like marvellous "auras" and subtle and effectual gorgeous beauty.

The Daleks are such assholes unfortunately that they don't want to "share" how beautiful they are with lesser beings.

(Here's where I get obvious.)

Remember the special weapons Dalek? The berserker Dalek with the Big fricking gun form Remembrance of the Daleks. Dalek ideology believes in sacrificing sanity for power. Davros or someone "overclocked" a multitude of successive generation of Daleks brain after the cancellation of the series. Forced evolution. Using their thinking muscle for this other purpose would divert and retask services in their brain probably reserved for rational (by Dalek Standards) thoughts in deference to flight and shields. There wouldn't have been enough grey matter to go around.

The NuDaleks are powerful but batshit.

But the NuNuDaleks, regressing to their glory days seem to be capable of devious and adaptive thought... But you have to ask at what cost?

How physically less powerful "psychokinetically" are these NuNuDaelsks to retain a more usable superior intellect?

(Obviously not, since that would mean less special effects, but come on, my math is fabulous.)

I always thought the Doctor had no idea how the Daleks were still active in that story, and was bluffing when he said it was psychokinesis. After all, the Daleks life support and computer brain (used to solve the city's logic puzzle) would need some power supply.

One point that people seem to forget, the Daleks did achieve flight in the classic series, there is a scene showing them flying up stairs. Watch:

Agreed, what's the difference between flying 6 inches off the ground and flying 100s of feet of the ground?

Considering how easily the casing was opened after the Doctor and some Thals pushed a few daleks into the ice-magma flow I'd have to say that it's psychokinesis that keeps their lids sealed. It's like assuming that the Germans driving the Tanks in WWII didn't lock the hatch/port before they went into battle. It took a concious waking effort to maintain the consistency of their armour.

The scene in classic who with it screaming "elevate" was the Dalek, just from observing the special effects, using force to resist and fight against gravity, in-so a counter force or thrust.

NuDaleks seem to employ "antigravity".

Whether that means that they might be using their psychokinesis to employ an antigravitational effect, or that they are technologically creating an antigravitational field which now allows formerly undoable robust movement, because of zero resistant forces (ie inertia, atmospherical, magnetic, cosmic winds), such as flight with their relatively still equivalent psychokinesis, it's a coin toss.

So, if Daleks can do Psychokinesis, why don't they just force people to do stuff for them? Someone with the right mind powers can force you to do anything they like (eg Dukat made Sisko kneel before him for example). If the Kaled mutant inside the Dalek has the power to actually propel the Dalek machine, then surely controlling some mere human would be a simple matter?

^ Right. Apart from that one line in DTTD there has been, AFAIK, absolutely nothing to suggest any form of psychic or paranormal abilities in the Daleks.

Psychokinesis is not telepathy, but anyways the Daleks wouldn't want to go into the minds of alien scum. Would you like to dip your tongue into a bucket of shit? Ditto on touching alien scum with even the power of their mind. Any Dalek having such intimate contact with a nonDalek life form would volunteer for self extermination. Gods, their Psychokinetic forcefields would be turned up to 11 constantly just to avoid contact with non Dalek microscopic biomatter.

Mitty, controlling the fine motor skills of a biped would be difficult. Crushing that same humanoid into the space of a tennis ball would be piss-easy if they would ever relent on their shields for fear of being contaminated with the impure universe about them.

If they had destroyed all life in the universe a couple seasons back, and it was "safe". There was no more disgusting nondalek life out there... Could they have dispensed with their travel units?

Psychokinesis is not telepathy...

True, but it is considered a psychic/paranormal phenomenon. Daleks have never shown any abilities in this regard, and apart from the Doctor's line in DTTD there is nothing to support the notion that they have psychokinesis either.

My personal opinion, which you can take or leave as you like, is that Dalek life support, computer and motive systems are so efficient they can run on the power generated by the energy collector slats around the midriff. The weapon needs a greater supply, hence it can not operate with the storage cells being constantly drained.
