Dalek Invasion still erased (SPOILERS)

reread what you originally said. Read what some people, including myself have said about how you conduct yourself on here. Then do the math as our American cousins say.
Are you suggesting that I throw insults and labels around rather than arguing the points at hand? I emphatically do my best not to do that around here, even when others fail to extend the same courtesy in my direction. You really ought to learn the difference.

If that's what you think, then so be it, I just found what you said highly amusing. Although what you said about being nice, did come across as slightly ironic and I was reminded of the "it's not fair" part of the Robot Club episode of Spaced.

Oi! Did you not remember the first rule of Robot Club?

No one ever acknowledges the moon nearly crashing into the planet or the rampage of Abaddon down Queen Street in Cardiff either. Doesn't mean they never happened.

Not to mention the Loch Ness monster swimming up the thames, Cybermen outside St Pauls...etc etc

Brings to mind the 7th Doctor in Remembrance of the Daleks.

"Do you remember the Zygon Gambit with the Loch Ness monster, or the Yetis in the underground?"

The Dalek invasion did take place, but remembering the events are cloudy.

Funny, I was just going to bring that up as well. It is a bit of a "One More Day" style retcon. The events happened but at the same time, they didn't.

Maybe it's time for a crisis on Infinite Whoniverses?

And while were at it, what about the Dalek invasion of 2000? Hmmm?

Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.....

I'm really not that concerned about it. It is fairly standard that shows set in the same universe (with or without a continuity cop) inevitably diverge the timeline (as it were) at some point.

"One More Day" jokes never get old. :)

Nah. A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. :)

Nothing was actually erased from history by the cracks, only the memories of those things were erased. For example: Amelia wouldn't have still existed if her parents had actually been erased from history. Nor would Rory's ring have still been there, etc.

It's all much easier if just approach information from the spin-offs the way I do:

Keep what you like and ignore the rest.

Simple!

:)

As far as I'm concerned, the Dalek Invasion of 2009 happened, and everyone remembers it, and I don't care what The Sarah Jane Adventures has to say about it.

Also:

This is still nothing compared to the discontinuity between Torchwood 1.13, "End of Days," and Doctor Who 3.11, "Utopia." "End of Days" ends with the TARDIS clearly being heard and shooting up its typical wind in the Torchwood Hub and with Jack, who was just standing there, suddenly being gone. Clearly, the Doctor had whisked Jack away from within the Hub itself. Yet "Utopia" begins with the TARDIS landing outside Roald Dahl Plass and Jack running towards them from the Bay while carrying the Doctor's severed hand. And Jack's hair is different! Completely contradictory!

Does Moffat really have anything to do with this? RTD is still running SJA, as far as I know, and Season 4 of Who and Children of Earth were his as well. He's bungled his own continuity here more than anything else, it would seem.

Well it isn't like RTD and Moffat don't talk to each other. I'm pretty sure RTD would have, at the very least, run by Moffat anything he wanted to write in SJA and even though he isn't show runner I'd imagine Moffat would have some level of veto over what goes into SJA?

I would imagine this is the extent of what was said about people unaware of aliens in SJA...

RTD: "Hey Steve, I want people not to know about aliens in SJA. It makes for better stories..."

MOFF: "Oh hey, yeah sure. Sounds good."

RTD: "Great, thanks. How's the show going?"

MOFF: "Want your old job back?"

RTD: "No way!"

MOFF: "Heh...it's good. How's the Jane?"

RTD: "Oh fanTABulous! Let me tell you..."

Etc., etc.
