Daedelus, ala April

I like it, but going back to the original sketch on Page 1. I like the interconnecting struts between the pod and the back of the outriggers, however, I feel that they should be at the same angle of the nacelle pylons if possible, just to keep that visual line in place. They way it is now seems a little jarring to me. But other then that I love the way this is going, and I almost had hoped that when they refitted the Enterprise in Season 3 of ENT, that they went in this direction with the underslung pod.

I think I've found a use for Abrams' Uglyprise, or at least the secondary hull...

Hmmmm...

Akiraprise, meet "Uglyprise"...

How a propos!

I hope you're not spending too much time on something like this.

The secondary hull of the Uglyprise just struck me as precisely the kind of shape I was looking for (apologies to Ancient, but since he borrowed a bit from my 1701 deck plans for his, it seemed fair  ).

The scary part was how well the neck and pylons lined up. All I had to do was adjust the relative size of the image.

You bastard!

I was a little :wtf: when I saw that, I was "...is that MY drawing?!" I don't mind though. I'm glad you found a use for it. Just for the record, I only borrowed an idea, and not an actual drawing. And I can't remember what it was, it's been a while. Something about the bridge, or the engineering placement? That project is still a blur of bridge-rotation and ship-length arguements.

It's an interesting idea, but it doesn't fit in plausibly.

The NX class was was massive, and the Constitution class was more massive. This can't be the "missing link", since it is even more massive, as opposed to be in-between.

Sheesh! You've got me taking this way too seriously!

It's just a starting point. The hangar deck area will have to be enlarged somewhat, and the surface detail roughed up some, while smoothing out some of the saucer detail, but I think this is on the right track.

The only reason I recognized my plans as the source was the color of the navigational deflector (it's not a standard Paint Shop Pro color; had to pick one out from the color wheel).

Really? That's possible, I don't recall where I got the colors at all, but at that early stage in my computer-art carrer it's not surprising.

*shifty glance*

Dear God, I hope not. Those short nacelles make for abomination proportions.

Nice work on the drawing though.

Heh, odd indeed. I started to say that looked suspiciously like your drawing, ancient, (since I knew it was) but I was waiting for you to pop in and say it.
