Re: "Daedalus" class model from Chronology & Sisko's Des
I pretty much thought the same, quick and easy but not that pretty... well I kinda like them anyway. I started to model one before, had planned to make that large area on the upper eng hull (that kinda look like large doors to me anyway) be able to open as kinda a fighter bay. A bay that could be switched out later, kinda multi-purpose. I think the fighter bay thing was from watching B5 and thinking smaller fighters used during the war.
Anyway I think if the dadedalus was to be seen on screen this is pretty much what I would like to see, made by lennier1 (don't think it was finished but never saw any more of it
)...

I've thought of the Daedalus Class as the equivalent of the Liberty ships of World War II - something cheap and easy that could be turned out in great numbers during wartime.
In my timeline, the Daedalus Class was created for the Earth-Romulan War as general purpose ships. They had some weaponry, mostly for self protection, but otherwise could serve as troop and cargo haulers. After the war, their great numbers insured they would be central to exploring the galaxy during the early years of the Federation.
