Anyway, I tried Paint 3D's Effects tab, and while I could get lighting somewhat similar to your example, I didn't have the time (nor inclination - I am very lazy when the mood strikes) to light each character individually and put them back together again. But, thank you VERY much for introducing me to it - I'm sure it'll come in handy on another challenge

Right, so this is what I eventually ended up with (using Paint 3D's watercolour brushes with barely any opacity in place of a lighting filter effect):

No problem. Whatever you have changed is subtly done but effective, it's very much more tied together now. Looks great, well done.

My eight year old niece introduced me to Bluey earlier in the year, and I haven't looked back - I love it! Bingo is my favourite character especially when she plays "a rich lady" in the episode 'Taxi'. But especially* as Granny Rita in 'Grannies' and 'Bus'! ("Where are the beans?", "Oh, ma coins.").
And I might have a bit of a crush on Bandit...

Here is Rutherford undergoing treatment for falsely diagnosed Synthetic Memory Degradation (SMD) - my entry for this month's fan art challenge: Alphanumeric Soup.

I found a sketchbook with some pencil shaded sketches of figures in various poses that I'd drawn many years ago while at art school, so I thought I'd have another go. Rutherford's a bit wonky in places and the shading was a bit of a rush job, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out considering that I haven't done any life drawing in years.
(Yes, I know Tendi didn't have Rutherford strip down to his undercrackers in the episode ("Strange Energies"), so I thought I'd correct that error in this piece

)

Sticking with the Rutherford theme, here's the latest in my series of Rutherford action figures: Chocolate Romance Edition Rutherford from LDS: "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place"

(The colour's a bit washed out due to the terrible lighting here (storm outside, and indoor lights are useless), so I might have to try this again on a nicer day.)

I've made a start on this month's art challenge: Timekeeping. As I couldn't remember what my original thoughts/ideas for this theme were, I've come up with something new: a poster for the Star Trek: Lower Decks first season episode "Temporal Edict".

I began by looking at time travel film posters. Many of them feature someone or someones in front of a circular background somethingorother - usually a clock face or something similar. One of them in particular caught my eye: The Adam Project. I liked the layout - and Ryan Reynolds! - so decided to use it as the basis for my poster.

Then I went to Cygnus-X1 to find reference screencaps for my idea. While I found suitable character shots, there was only one in the sequence that showed the passing of time (in which the camera passes through the hole in the red, circular timer, then through a ticking clock face to a chaotic USS Cerritos), so I had to watch the episode and take a few screenshots myself. It was then that I noticed that the clock face had 16 hour markers rather than 12. Maybe this is a stardate clock?

Anyway, here's where I'm up to so far:

I got a bit carried away with the colouring in and forgot to leave room for the Cerritos in the top left (a similar position to where the time-travel jet - or whatever it is - in the Adam Project poster), so I'll have to draw & cut-out a separate one then physically paste it in place.
I'm also not sure whether to keep the Gelrakian crystals at the bottom, or just have a starscape (not The @Starscape ) and maybe add Cerritos there? Your thoughts would be welcome

That's a great start, @Cyfa (well, more like a great middle considering how much you've done ),
very bold and colourful!

From a compostional point of view I'd say you'd need something in that bottom strip other than a starcape. Either the Cerritos in the bottom left to complete a diagonal/wedge shape along with the characters or the crystals to form the base of the character pyramid.

Whatever your decision your entry will be tough one to compete against.

Thanks, @Starscape I think you're right - it does need something down there to balance the characters. I'm going to stick with the crystals on either side and leave the bottom bit below Freeman black for the title and credits. Unless...
I've just thought: maybe I could put Cerritos down there on the left, as you suggest, and have the title in the top left quarter (and maybe the credits at the bottom right?). Ah, a decision to make tomorrow morning!

Well, I finally finished - and I'm glad I stuck with the crystals as they came out better than I'd expected (but not as good as I'd like).

TIME TRAVEL: NOT IN THIS EPISODE

^ I think LDS is the only Trek show NOT to have a time travel episode? (Well, "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus" did, but that was on the holodeck. And Boimler & Mariner did travel back in time, but that was in SNW.)

In between walking my dog, I've spent a good part of the day creating another in my Rutherford Action Figure Series: Medical Experiment Victim Edition (inspired by events from LDS S2: "Strange Energies"). This one has been on my "to do" list for ages, and this month's Fan Art Challenge theme "Gift Shop Goodies" was all the reason I needed to work on it.

[I think I'm going to have a busy February, so this will probably be my entry to the challenge - although I might try and do another couple if time allows.]

I found a bit of time today to create this 'special edition' in my Rutherford Action Figure Series: Paradoxus Punk Edition.
Inspired by the holodeck events of LDS: "Crisis Point 2: Paradoxus", Rutherford, playing Lt. Cmdr. Sylvo Toussant of the USS Wayfarer, struggles to get a punk's outfit to fit his brawny frame (much to my delight!).

One more slightly less risqué* (I think) lifesize Rutherford action figure for this month's Gift Shop Goodies fan art challenge: Sonic Shower Show Rutherford. This edition stems from the sonic shower opening scenes from the second season episode "Kayshon, His Eyes Open". The Siggi-the-Cuttlefish shower mitt is just that, and definitely not Siggi himself after being hit by Kerner Hauze's puppet ray. Really.

* The previous Paradoxus Punk Toussant edition surprised me because I had to draw quite a bit of Rutherford's... anatomy behind that warning. That punk was considerably smaller than Rutherford, and the episode showed that the adorable engineer just could not get those pants up around his hips/waist, never mind do them up, so there was quite a lot on show.**
** Why didn't I just draw some underwear, I hear you ask? Well, does Sylvo Toussant look like a man who resorts to underwear?!
