CW network working on Batwoman series

That reminds me, that wig he wore in Season 1 was atrocious, as were most wigs in the Arrowverse.

This time it's important, so I do hope the wig department does not screw up. :vulcan:

I have yet to see a convincing wig on CW DC shows though.

Remember Barry's emo wig, oh man:

But Batwoman's will be attached to the mask, so not a big deal.

At 32, Ruby Rose is out of the "age range" that The CW was casting for, but since Rappaport Casting hasn't yet made a mistake in the people they've selected, I have no doubt that she ended up being the best person for the role regardless of her age.
They could have decided to go slightly older once they realized they could to get some higher profile, like Ruby Rose.

I just deleted my post realizing that that is now how the character is--it wasn't always that way was it?

I think she had long hair in 52, not sure though, haven't read it, but everything since her run starring Detective Comics and her New52 and current solo one it's been a wig.

Grace comments on the Ruby Rose casting:

Costume will probably look like this, but more Leather-y.

Looks like they may be able to finally do their version of the Justice League, which Barry is supposedly a founding member of, according to Gideon.

They've got Batwoman, Supergirl, Flash, Green Arrow, Black Lightning and Martian Manhunter.

Black Lightning doesn't exist in the same Multiverse as the rest of those heroes.

Using the wider DC universe as a template, a more likely Arrowverse JL lineup would be Green Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Black Canary, Vibe, Killer Frost, Martian Manhunter, Atom, Steel, and Vixen (either Mari or Kuasa), with Constantine, Overwatch, and Batwoman as potential reserve members.

What you mean is, there's no indication so far that the producers have any plans to cross BL over with the other shows. That could, of course, change in the future if the producers or the network wanted it to. As far as the "multiverse" goes, there's been nothing so far to explicitly tie BL's world to the Arrowmultiverse, but there's been nothing that explicitly excludes the possibility either. No more than half of the 53 Earths have been mentioned so far, so it could always turn out to be one of the others.

Black Lightning follows a completely different format from the series that exist as part of the Arrowverse's Multiverse, so it's not simply a matter of saying that BL's characters exist on one of the 53 worlds that make up the internal Multiverse of the Arrowverse.

Black Lightning is a "black family drama" couched in the guise of a "superhero series" and therefore has very different sensibilities.

That's an utterly nonsensical statement, considering that the Arrowverse had no trouble absorbing Constantine.

Characters whose individual titles in the comics are quite different in tone cross over all the time. Even when characters cross over now, they are adjusted slightly to match the tone of the show they are visiting. There is no reason why Black Lightning couldn't cross over with Supergirl and still be faithful to the premise and family drama of the series.

^ I disagree.

This is all a moot point anyways, though, because the Akils have stated that they have no desire to have Black Lightning co-exist with the other CW superhero series.
