CW network working on Batwoman series

They'll probably be forced to keep the tattoos. Covering this all up with makeup on a regular basis would be too much effort for a CW show.

The Archer tattoo though... lol.

I enjoy the Arrowverse for what it is, and it is pretty impressive for CW to get a mainstream actress into this role. Fans should see her in the annual crossover with a new standalone series for 2019.

Thoughts? Can CW become over-saturated with the comic shows? Will something like Legends of Tomorrow end up going away to make room?

They'd be silly to remove the best show. :p

Yeah I enjoy it. I'm just wondering at some point something will have to go away. Maybe Arrow can just get wrapped into Legends to free up some time slots. All of the other superhero shows have a ton of momentum right now, but Arrow is sort of on a loop with the same issues every season.

How many police procedurals are there on other networks? How many detective shows or spy shows? How many medical dramas have there been over the history of TV? How many Westerns were on the air in the '60s? How many sitcoms about families have there been? There's no such thing as oversaturation.

As for having room, The CW has now expanded its schedule to include Sunday nights, so they now have 20% more room than before. And their president has announced that there are no plans at present to end any of the superhero shows.

True. I'm not advocating for it I was just curious.

I am under the opinion that there are too many medical and detective dramas flooding the major networks. Nothing really stands out with them anymore. But the networks keep chugging em out so what do i know? Lol.

I think the superhero shows are a bit more sustainable due to the loyal fan bases. The only one getting stale to me is Arrow. I've come close to giving it up.

Never heard of the actress. Seems to be a good fit.

It's probably a pretty cheap fix. Actors with tattoos are hardly a new thing.

My grandmother's name was Ruby Rose.

As someone said above, Kate Kane has some tattoos in the comics, so there's no reason she can't have more. And it's not unheard of to adjust a character to incorporate the actor's tattoos, as with Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock Holmes in Elementary.

I think I read recently that Grant Gustin has a Superman tattoo on his arm. They should let him show it and say that Barry got it in honor of his BFF Supergirl.

Won't Oliver be jealous?

One, it takes a few moments to cover up a tattoo with makeup. Two, a lot of people have tattoos so it wouldn’t be a big deal. The 1950s ended a long time ago, despite the wishes of some.

Only way I see any of these shows ending would be if one of the leads gets a huge movie offer they could not turn done. But even then I suspect the shows would not be cancelled but retooled to focus on the other characters.

I am thinking how when Andy Griffith was ready to leave his own show a new lead slowly was introduced in his last season. Next season it was retitled “Mayberry R.F.D.” with most of the supporting cast staying on.

At some point we could have Star City or Star City Samaritans if Stephen Amell ever leaves.

With Legends I would not have a problem if they took a break for a season or two and returned. Similar to how comic book miniseries have sequels every few years. Or closer probably to how British television “series” are our equivalent of seasons but with pauses in production for years between. The Arrowverse would chug along on other series in the off time. Really that could be applied to any of the current shows or future series. Maybe than seasons would be produced when they have really good plot lines. Not just to keep production moving. The crews could keep working on other Arrowverse shows during hiatuses.

I guess it comes down the the cast contracts and studio space.

If you have a year gap in production the cast are going to want to do something else during the time and if they under contract it could also limit what they do and production facility won't want to have space sitting idle for a year so the producers would have to fork out money that's not going to see any return and if they fold the sets then you've got to store them and then put them backup.

For shows that were revamped after the lead left, Major Crimes started up after The Closer ended.
Just saw the news about Ruby Rose, and she seems like a good choice. My only familiarity with her is from her one off guest appearance on Dark Matter, but I really liked her there, and was disappointed she only appeared once.
I haven't seen it yet, but apparently she was in John Wick Ch.2 and kicked some serious ass.
Just found a possibly spoilery fight scene from JW C2, and she can definitely handle action.

Because Kate has an Army background, the actress having tattoos actually works to her advantage and makes sense from a practical standpoint, so I doubt they'll cover them up.
