Cut Malcolm's leg off!

Archer: *finishes cutting through Malcolm's leg* "There we go, all done! ...Uh oh."
Malcolm: "What's wrong?"
Archer: "I may have cut below the strut instead of above it."
Malcolm: "Bloody hell. Just blow me up and get it over with!"

I like the suggestion that Malcolm's leg should have come off. It would have added a nice bit of drama to the episode, especially with a tense scene in sickbay to simply save Malcolm's life. At the end of the episode and the beginning of the next, Malcolm's career is in ruins and he's looking at being lame for life.

Of course, the next episode was "Dead Stop", and we know what that miracle station was capable of.

But we already have reasonably sophisticated leg prosthetics these days. He might have to lay off away missions for a while but it'd hardly ruin his career.

Like modifying ExoComps into medical phasers :D

Actually, now that you bring it up, I think it might have been interesting if Malcolm's leg had been amputated in "Minefield" and then the station in "Dead Stop" built him an awesome new prosthetic. But knowing ENT, they never would have followed up on it after that. :p

It might have been interesting to see Reed with a biomechanical leg. Too bad that plot never materialized.

For the record, I think T'Pol did recognize the Romulan language, but that doesn't mean she could speak it.

He would have gotten a bionic leg like the Six Million Dollar Man.
