BTW B, that avatar is getting old. Can I make you a new one or something?
BTW: his mother, Wanda Ventham, was in three Who stories during the 60s-80s (Faceless Ones, Image of the Fendahl and Time & the Rani).
I would really like to see Jekyll's James Nesbitt as the Moffat-era Master. The next Master perhaps?
I'm not sure, but I think this could be the first time that the words "safe" and "obvious" were attached to "choice" when it comes to casting the Doctor! The more I see and hear about Cumberbatch the more I think he would be the safe choice/obvious choice for the 12 doctor.
Let you make me one? No. Someone else, maybe. I've had Ocett for quite a while though; I imagine my legions of fans here would find a change hard to get used to.BTW B, that avatar is getting old. Can I make you a new one or something?
Karen Gillan confirmed the other day that the rumours are nonsense. I'm presuming she'd know. Besides, replacing odd-looking, wonderful, convincingly alien Matt Smith with Cumberbatch would be a big step backwards in my view.It does occur to me that if Cumberbatch is hinting at something now -- and the role in mind is not the Master -- then it's possible that the rumors of Matt Smith leaving at the end of season six are true.

How dare you. I make lots of jokes.
It's not about the actress, it's the character. I'm not sure I can remember the actress' name even, and nor would I recognise her.
As for James Nesbitt, whatever happened to him? He was flavour of the month once, back when he was doing those Yellow Pages adverts. Last I saw of him was in the paper a year ago about how he was going bald. Personally, I never really saw the fuss about him. He's a reasonable comic actor, but the Radio Timesish media set used to talk about him like he's the greatest thing ever. I can't imagine what he'd bring to role of the Master, beyond a camp pantomine that would make Eric Roberts look subtle.

Did you catch Moffat's Jekyll? He was incredible in it. LOVED him! He would make a decidedly sinister Master, if they so let him...As for James Nesbitt, whatever happened to him? It's Gul Ocett from TNG episode The Chase. I just picked her because the Cardies are my favourite race, she's one of the best, and...well this is a Star Trek forum. It's not about the actress, it's the character. I'm not sure I can remember the actress' name even, and nor would I recognise her.
That's sad, dude. The woman is obviously hot behind that mask (or used to be).
And what is that character from? DS9?
I didn't see it, though it'd have to be a terrific performance for me to take that bottom pic seriously. Wasn't that the show which shattered the Paterson Joseph myth?Did you catch Moffat's Jekyll? But also after watching Sherlock I'm going to suggest someone I never ever thought I would. Martin Freeman...
