Crisis in Syndication: Local Station Not Airing SGU S2

Despite assurances a few weeks ago, my local station is not airing Season Two of "Stargate: Universe". I don't know why yet. If your affiliate is a Cox Communications station, they also might have dropped the show (?). They might have given MGM very little notice. This is very upsetting in view of my efforts to watch the Stargate programs properly and to rewatch all of S1 because of the overwhelming continuity aspects of Universe. If you are getting and recording Season Two, I would be interested in trading for copies of the episodes on a delayed basis. PLEASE E-MAIL ME and I will send you a list of everything I have to trade, including all of S1 except 104, 108, and 105 (the fourth, fifth, and seventh episodes of S1). I prefer the VHS format but would consider privately recorded dvd's. At the Media Mail Rate within the US a pound of stuff may be sent for about $1.50. I'm not interested in borrowing the commercial dvd's because then I could only watch them on one occasion, not as if I were experiencing a season and could retain episodes for reference.

You do know that rips from the original airing are uploaded on the Internet, right? You can easily find them using a Rapidshare/Megaupload/etc... search engine.

bullethead, no, because I'm not a computer person, but I will look into it as long as it's legal and I don't have to pay, which I would on Netflix, SG-17. I really thought SGU was unavailable on the Web legally. Legality per se is not the concern; becoming infested with defensive viruses would be.

You have to pay for Netflix after the first month. So you can sign up, get a month free, watch season 2, and cancel your subscription before the second month so you don't get charged anything.

Folks, I edited my opening because I can only be e-mailed at this time due to my box being full. Sorry. I don't add writers to my addressbook. SG-17, I know about the free trial but want to have, not rent, the episodes and to save my one free trial for something shorter; one month does not equal a season.

Hulu? As of when? SGU S1 was not being shown in recent months nor was SG1. Other fans were complaining of its disappearance, on gateworld.net. No one mentioned any reappearances.

I'm confused...why not pick it up on DVD? I'm sure you can get it below market value on ebay.

Broccoli, for many reasons I don't believe in paying for tv, which in my lifetime was traditionally free.

You're wanting to watch a TV program that has already been seen on television, a program that had commercials to support it's broadcast. To see that show again, traditionally, you waited until it was a rerun. Since you don't want to wait for a rerun, the situation is no longer under the purview of free over-the-air/cable broadcasts. So "I don't believe in paying for TV" is not a viable option here since what you want does not fall under free and legal.

This means you'll have to use an alternate means of viewing. There are free options, but it seems no current legal free options. There are pay options, but you don't want to pay. There is one free to try option, but you state that you don't have the technical prowess to work with that.

This leaves you out of luck.

J.Allen, I never said anything about not waiting. I have waited. Another member said S2 was on Hulu. The situation does not require minute analysis.

If you're willing to wait, why the complaint? From your posts, you indicated you wanted to watch SGU Seasons 1 and 2 and wanted to know legal and easily accessible ways of watching SGU Season 2 for free. Your OP indicates you didn't want to wait, or at the very least, were frustrated with the delay in SGU Season 2 being broadcast. As a side note, that wasn't minute analysis. That was a quick, offhand summation.

You're exiled unrealistically for no reason in the past buddy.

On the legility business of downloading.

How can you steal something that no one wants?

They want to bury SGU and pretend it never happened.

It's like no worse than dumpster diving in MGMs rubbish skips.

Oh.

I heard this amazing word to describe eating out of dumpsters...

"Freegan"

Hilarious.

And since wide-spread TV was only 25 years old at the time, cable TV has been paired with free-TV longer than not.

I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for season two of battle star galactica to come onto tv, but then I saw it in the library on DVD for two dollars for a week, and I just chuffed that the network down here sucks so hard, not that I was compelled to rent the bugger because I had seen downloads of it all over a year earlier.
