Actually, when he says "Merde" and that just whooshes past the censors at about Warp 20, how could they not miss it?

When Beverly states unequivocally that people no longer suffer headaches in the 24th century in "The Battle." Or anytime they make ridiculous medical statements to make the so seem futuristic, such as "when we suffered from things like the common cold."
I always thought she meant doing something rash, suicidal, and stupid was so unlike him. I think they showed him to be a model officer who was going places.
No, I like that one. And I have to commend Stewart's pronunciation, for a native English speaker, that's really not a bad effort.
That episode where Picard was very scantily clad, not the torture episode. The one where he was on leave, with the floaty but very short outfit. I was horrified that something might pop out. Really not interested in seeing middle aged men with so little on.

Also, that feels...weird to see Data/Lore exhibiting extreme facial expressions, like a very wide smile or an angry face. Not exactly cringe-worthy, but very out of character (well not for Lore, but you get what I mean) ! I'm so used to seeing Brent Spiner's face being neutral that it's a bit icky when his face looks...'normal' XD

While I suppose it's deliberate, pretty much all of Barclay's holodeck programs are creepy AF, especially Beverly stroking him while he sleeps. Shit, even the last one where he says goodbye to them all, which is supposed to be a heartfelt moment. It's creepy, dude. Just stop it. Shut it off

I actually found "There are FOUR lights!" to be pretty cringey. And pretty much the entire first season.

Not too damaging as an episode's conclusion, since that ep was Shades of Gray anyway, but still very cringeworthy imho...
I always found this cringeworthy. Especially Picard's very weird "hu-hu-hu-hu-hu-hu" sound. I have no idea what Patrick Stewart was going for there. People are supposed to act drunk from this 'infection', but this is like watching two people who only know what being drunk is like from books pretending to be drunk.
Every single moment Leah Brahms, real or holographic, is on screen it's grotesque. The moment right after this where Geordi yells at her that she's wronged him and not given him a chance is the worst. He'd been awkwardly and obviously harassing her the whole episode up to that point.
Wow, I only quoted that line for being cringe-worthy because it's just corny writing. I really disagree that he's harassing her. He is awkwardly attempting to befriend her, with the added agenda of hoping for more than just friendship. That's not harassment. It's just life. He is not using a power position to pressure her. He isn't acting lewd or lasciviously. He simply wanted her to like him
Human interaction is almost never picture perfect. For any kind of meaningful social connections to ever be made, someone must put themselves out there, risk rejection... gamble. Geordi did an utterly shit job of that here, & he made the bad choice to withhold the secret that he'd crushed on her, over an unintentional holodeck creation. All indications suggest that the 1 program, for that 1 crisis, was all it ever was. The rest was just an internal infatuation, based on that computer created fiction.
Should he have fessed up about having researched/studied her & her work, inadvertently pried into her personal history a bit, & developed a crush? Absolutely. He is wrong for not coming clean, right up front, but it's not a damnable mistake, because it would be hard to admit that. It's embarrassing
Was he a little creepy? Yeah... trying to win her over with personal info she doesn't know he's accessed, like her favorite dinner dish... commenting on her hairstyle change, etc... If he had kept doing it, it would've been stalker-ish, but it was only a few ignorant instances. Had he known she was married, he wouldn't have. To be fair, We ALL try to find out some things about someone we're interested in, to improve our chances. It's normal in moderation. People act like he's got a Leah Brahms shrine that he jacks it to. That is their OWN projection, not what is being shown. It says more about the people who think that, than it does him imho
Now, as for him arguing about it with her, he's upset because she's taking it out of context, & seeing it in the absolute worst possible light. It's gone as badly for him as it could've, & he could've avoided it, had he been forthcoming about it, but what everyone overlooks is the fact that he's had to defend himself, & his work, since 1st meeting her. Who does she think she is? Yes, he's made a proper ass of himself, & in that moment it looks much worse than it actually is, but she has been wrong to him as well, assuming she has a right to judge his every professional decision. As just a designer, that's inappropriate too. Then condemning him for a slight indiscretion... it's just too much to defend, so he got testy. It's expectable imho
If I were in her place, I'd be rather uncomfortable finding that program, but not only would I have been objective enough to not be blowing through the ship, taking shots at someone's work, I'd also give them a little consideration to at least find out what they have to say about it, before condemning them. Hell, I might even be a little flattered, once I'd found out it wasn't deliberately inappropriate.
But that's me. We can choose to assume the worst of people, or we can give some of them a chance, even though the odds might be stacked against them. God help us all, once we start living in the world of the former. It'll be a world where when somebody has a crush, we ruin them. Enjoy kids.
Arsenal of Freedom - The conversation between Geordi and Chief Engineer Logan was diabolical.
Logan the latest to be awarded the rank of Chief Engineer in season 1 was portrayed almost as a big bad - a foreboding figure currently on his way to the bridge because he was questioning Geordi's orders and ability to command.
The squabbling over who should be in charge was every bit as bad before the early solution to all the first seasons problems presented itself - separate the saucer section.

Everything Geordi did was overtly sexual. It was not friendly at all. For one, he is screwing that hologram. He speaks to Brahm in a very flirtatious, bedroom tone the entire episode. He knows way to much about her, including her taste in food. It's an obsessive act that is beyond friendly. And that meeting in his quarters is SO INAPPROPRIATE. First, you don't invite a colleague of the opposite sex to your room if you want them to be comfortable. You go someplace public. You have a drink. You do friendly things. You, at the very least, feel them out to see if they would later like to go back to your room. Give them a chance to feel out your intentions and possibly refuse. You certainly don't dim the lights and put on soft jazz. That's a such a tacky, stereotypical sex environment. Would you ever create that environment for a friend? Basically, Geordi invited her on a date without telling her it was a date and expected her to, what? Get on board? He ambushed her. This is work place etiquette 101. Geordi was being an utter creep.
Actually saucer separation only occurs in this episode, Farpoint, and Best of Both Worlds. I, personally, would have preferred if they used it more often. The ship is constantly getting into trouble that shouldn't involve the families on board. Just at an example in Hero Worship, the saucer shouldn't have been taken into the nebula at all. I know they said it slowed down the plot or was too expensive to show, but there are ways it could have been done, like the episode just starting off with the stardrive section only and a toss off line in the captain's log. Or just say "we're separating" and don't show it. Just like you don't show someone brushing their teeth in a movie. You assume the action.
