If you could transplant one character from another Trek series to the original, who would it be, and why?

That's a difficult question, since the characters on the other shows were essentially amalgams of the original characters and their presence would be somewhat redundant. Looking at secondary characters though, a Kirk - Tomalak showdown would have been fun.
That'd be interesting, but I guess I wasn't specific enough. I was thinking of crew members.
A friend and I were watching the Borg episodes for Memorial Day and it led to discussions of what if. What if Troi was on Kirk's bridge? Or Worf? How would McCoy put up with The Doctor? Would Seven of Nine be too much of a distraction? What if T'Pol served on Enterprise with Kirk instead of Spock? That sort of thing!

I'd say Jadzia Dax on Kirk's Enterprise would probably be the most interesting. Plus we'd get her in a mini-skirt on a weekly basis.
Yeah, I like this idea.
Odo would be very interesting, since Kirk needed a security chief. And I think O'Brien could fit right in with the original crew, running second shift in Engineering or as an alternate transporter chief.
I'd've loved to have seen Katie Pulaski and Leonard McCoy in a classic "who's the most crotchety doctor" episode...

Kirk would've sent Hugh back with the virus in I, Borg, so I'm not sure we'd see the same amount of friction between the two.

I never thought about Pulaski! I'd love to have seen her go at it with Bones!
