Create a holoprogram

If you were in Tom Paris's shoes, what holoprogram would you create for the crew's recreation... and/or your own personal indulgements?

If I made the holoprogram I (my actual self) would want, and I were in Tom Paris' shoes, then I'd be gay. ;)

I think Janeway had the right idea with her Michael Sullivan modifications. I'd just make him younger, instead of taller. I'm not very familier with Irish authors, so it would be a learning experience...yeah...that's it.

Seriously, though, I think Data's Shakespeare programs would be to my liking, except I'd fill a female role, of course. Or, perhaps a small, intimate theatre, an audience, director, and the rest of the cast for a contemporary theatre piece. (Or, perhaps one where I wouldn't fit any of the roles and would be working backstage.) Maybe I could even be in the audience and watch a recreation of some great performance.

Some place where I could do performance art. Or maybe run a few physical combat programs, since that's the kind of thing I would never do in real life.

I'm facinated with history, especially Ireland's history, so I'd probably make something based off that.

I'd also have a few Trek adventures to go on as well as some sci-fi/fantasy programs.

:):) My choices exactly! (2 out of 3 at least.)
I fantasize of having a regular spot singing in a club not quite unlike Sandrine's, with a little stage, and a dressing room, and holo-players accompanying me all through my repertoire. (In real life it would require a whole assortment of different bands.) The players would either do all musics or they would change from song to song.
Sometimes there would just be wild music, and wild dancing - at least from me.

And after Tuvok would have gotten me through bat'leth 101 in the gym, there would be training in the holodeck. At either level, for some reason, I would always kick Vorik's ass.

And my Michael Sullivan would be... oh, I don't know you enough! Virile, for sure.
A sophisticated, educated holo-love interest to talk with would only make it more painful that he's a hologram.
We have to give credit to Janeway for combining both. That must be what made it so hard for her. She made him too perfect for her. Although if she could make it only a fling... then hats off.

I'd probably get the computers to recreate all the various hallucinatory states able-to-be-induced through all psychedelic drugs that have ever existed (everything from LSD to 2-C-B to DMT etc.).

And, since there're safety protocols, no worries about psychosis, neurotransmitter depletion, or headaches! (Though, of course, there wouldn't be any of the euphoria/cool cognitive effects associated with actually ingesting such substances. But they'd undoubtedly be entertaining, nonetheless...)

Then, I would talk to Dr. Zimmerman and get him to design an algorithm which mixed all those states and even was able to create new ones at random...

Then, I would move on to mystical states (samadhi, Zen satori, the Christian mystic's "Union with God," and so on) until I got tired of them...I'm really very keen on the whole notion of "dying without dying."

Oh, I'd also want someone to design an algorithm - based on the texts of every single of Philip K. Dick's works - for producing a novel and random holonovel thematically in line with what he's already written.

Then, there's the possibility of an interactive version of Dune or Babylon 5...

Hell, maybe I could even simulate being the Captain of a Constitution-class starship in an era where holodecks exist...:P

I'm sure I'll think of more...

P.S. Of course, there's the creation of an algorithm for producing ever-new beautiful women who want to...indulge me, but then Barclay could've done that, so it isn't terribly interesting (cf. "Hollow Pursuits," TNG)...

Yeah...I think we all know what holodecks' primary use would be; Quark's has the general idea...

"Our holosuites automatically clean themselves. We've provided sanitary, moist towelettes for you to clean off, after your visit."

Shite, who am I kidding. My initial holosuite program would only need to last 15 minutes, at most, and then I'd probably be on to something cool like WWII or Thermopylae.

Thanks for playing the game. Creative.
I also wonder if holosuites could really induce hallucinatory states, not just hallucinations.
I hadn't thought of that use.

At least, the holodeck allows you to meet holy men and meditate, etc.

I would most definately upgrade several movies to be interactive on the holodeck. Among them would be V for Vendetta, Labyrinth, Pirates of the Carribean, the Little Mermaid...

Yes! a Holoprogram in which you could appear animated. That would be awesome.

A lesbian bar full of scantily clad hot women, who all love a Scottish accent

White sandy beaches, endless cocktails, tanned hot bodies, good music... :D

I have also thought about what a child of mine, made with the person I love, might be like... I would love a glimpse (another Farscape them :D).

Hello to bod! *waves*

I'd recreate 1968 San Francisco and race around in a 1968 Mustang Fastback
or drive cross country in a 1970 Challenger (I'd steer clear of Bulldozers though :D)
