Couple of Questions...

Michael Two Wolves

Commander
Red Shirt
Quick and Fast:
1. Can we post our own creations, or is this not the right forum in which to do so? I work in CorelDraw and have several unique CEC designs and a true extrapolation of the Republic Cruiser from the Complete Cross-Sections book...
2. How do we post so that we don't violate the rules? Do I post a dA link using the link button in the text editor? I think it said you can only post from your own machine if you're VIP...? Or do I just host it on a site like postimage to upload here?

I have other Star Wars EU stuff (as in a lot of it), including portions of a campaign setting involving a secret droid empire that lean to the good side (if any such thing can be defined in Star Wars as such), and their graphical binary language.

Appreciate the clarification, with apologies for my confusion ahead of time. Thank you!

Welcome! The fan art section is open to not Trek fan works as well, and you can note it in the title of [Non-Trek]. I know there is a full posting of rules there, and here is what the FAQ says:

Q: Am I allowed to post non-Trek artwork here?
A:
Well, this is the Fan Art forum on a bulletin board dedicated to Star Trek, but it’s not prohibited to post artwork unrelated to Trek. As a rule of thumb, new posters should probably start with something pertaining to Trek and keep the non-Trek stuff under half of what they post from then on.

The thread is here.

We do have a Star Wars art thread which you could add to here. It just isn't super active so you might not get as much visibility but more specifically Star Wars.

The last option is the best idea. I use Imgur primarily for my postings of memes, and gifs and such. You can just link to it, of course, but if you want to embed it then a hosting service, like postimage, would be the way to go.

Welcome again and I look forward to your art, especially the Republic Cruiser, one of my favorite designs.

Thank you! Yeah, I always found postimage to be pretty good. I don't think I've ever used imgur. My images, though are really high-resolution, which is why I use postimage. I don't know if I'm going to be able to afford the subscription to CorelDraw this year, which really sucks. I love doing stuff and building out layouts.

Unfortunately, I do not have any Trek-related art as I've never really had a chance to do any. I love really detailed floor plans, especially ones that I can turn into tabletop RPG maps. lmao Nothing like a detailed map to bring a scene to life. I also have the Nubian H-type yacht.

I do promise, though, give me time and a chance to figure out how to keep my CorelDraw going and I'll put out some Trek floor plans in three-dimensional top-down format.

Thank you again, Admiral! *salutes*

Well, post your work here! I can't wait to see it. You'll find a home eventually :)

I don't think anyone who regularly read the Art board cares if you did Trek art before. We have a monthly contest, which calls for new art every month, so that could be a great thing to do, in addition to Star Wars..... but would it be OK if you did both boards? They might be different audiences
