Countdown to 2021 Thread

The past year has been a challenge for everyone. We are still confronted with a world wide health issue. Some have lost beloved ones. People have lost their jobs or worse, their homes.

There won't be Happy New Year parties all over the world.

On the other side. Some enjoyed happy moments this year.

What do you hope and expect for 2021?

My expectations for 2021:

1. Getting Covid-19 under control - getting vaccinated.
2. Getting rid of Trump.
3. A new job.
4. Getting to travel again. Greece, for instance. Planned it for 2020, but Covid interfered.

I hope we'll be returning to normal, though we're already living a new normal. I just want to be able to eat at restaurants again, go to movie theaters, and do some traveling, even if it means wearing a mask and physically distancing myself from others.

I'm having a quiet night tonight - with some cases popping up in Melbourne after 60 days with zero community cases. Might do some gaming or watch a movie. Yet to decide. Looking forward to 2021.

I hope we'll be returning to normal, though we're already living a new normal. I just want to be able to eat at restaurants again, go to movie theaters, and do some traveling, even if it means wearing a mask and physically distancing myself from others.

I would accept the mask too if it means I can travel. As to the vaccine: they have altready begun to inoculate elderly people. No vaccine yet for young people under 16. It means isolation for young ones with chronic diseases or serious health issues.

2021 can only be better.....

I know there might be some here who already have passed midnight their time, but can I wish everyone here a Happy New Year for 2021 when it arrives.

Yes, roll on to the time when the new normal begins to become less restrictive, and to keep the improvements that many may have found in their work routines (will Zoom remain a standard thing?).

Let's concentrate on improving the good (more renewables for instance to help stop the damaging climate changes), eliminating the bad (racism and hatred and corrupt politicians for starters), and just keep trying to being a better, safer planet.

And for goodness sake, get Trump on some criminal charge, they don't do Twitter in jail, do they?

Onwards and upwards! Stay safe everyone.
