Could Wolverine be assimilated by the borg?

The title of this thread made me really laugh but seriously it's an interesting question. I doubt they would be able to assimilate him but they might learn the secrete of his super healing powers and use that for the evil of the collective.

Why I'm not 100% certain, I think he could. Nanoprobes wouldn't effect him much different than his adamentium skeleton. His system probably would fight any implants, so the nanoprobes would probably be very busy rebuilding and repairing parts.

Could Wolverine be assimilated by the borg?
Seriously? :wtf:

It could be worse. He could've asked if Wolverine could be circumcised. Think about it.

They would but isn't that already what his advanced healing system does....? Which is his mutant power or something?:P

Well it depends on which Wolverine we're talking about. If we're talking about the comic book Wolverine who can regenerate from a single atom or the movie version that can counter instant disintegration than there's no way Borg nanoprobes could counter his healing ability.

On the other hand, if we're giving Wolverine a more realistic healing factor than it's hard to say. Even Phlox's immune system was capable of resisting Borg nanoprobes for a while, so a super mutated healing factor might be enough to counter them completely.

Oh god, I just took this thread seriously. I feel so dirty. :(

That was my first thought as well, but then again...

^Oh, why...why...WHY!?!??!? How does that even work? What's next, Happy Days and Sailor Moon?

Although the assimilation question is interesting. Could a person or race with an advanced healing factor like that be assimilated? Like the Takarans?

Ahem. Are we all forgetting about the Borg rip-off race The Phalanx?

They are almost exactly like the Borg, and they managed to subdue Logan. I remember them encasing people in large towers with bubbles. True, they had some trouble with him, but they have numbers (like, every electronic device and electrical cable in the world, for example) and eventually won.

Then again the Brood couldn't assimilate him.

Don't know about the Borg, but I'd love to see the Zerg turn him into a KING of (Adamantium) Blades... ;)

I guess it would depend also whether Wolverines body even recognized the nanoprobes and Borg appendages as foreign to itself. Ex. Wolverine's body doesn't or can't reject the metal encasing his bones. Perhaps part of the Borg nanoprobes would supress an autoimmune system response or would be so foreign as to not even be recognised by the body. If the nanoprobes work similar to the chips inserted into animals, then the body doesn't reject them and therefore we can have our super-regenerative Wolverine-Borg. :techman:
