Could the war have been avoided if the Feds had heeded

The Dominion would have never just let the alpha quadrant be. They had changeling infiltrators on the other side of the wormhole already, and they'd never let those chaotic solids go unmanaged.

If anything, the UFP constantly barging into the Gamma quadrant may have gotten the Dominion riled up earlier than they otherwise would have been. If the Dominion had been able to wait longer to invade, they might have won.

If you take what Robert Hewitt Wolfe says behind the scenes as canon, then the Dominion was making plans to deal with the Federation before they even discovered the wormhole.

The Dominion would have come definetly, even If It would have taken them a 100 years to reach the Federation.
By then I think the Federation would have no chance to stop them.

Well, the Vorta literally put the idea in Sisko's head that they would try to establish a foothold in the Bajoran system. And the thwarted the effort to seal the wormhole. I think the threat about not transferring through the wormhole really only applied to the Federation.

It was never a serious offer. The entire affair was a performance with the singular goal of getting Eris to be accepted and for her to do whatever it is she was sent to do in the AQ.

At the end of STNG's The Chase S6Ep20 they see a recorded image of an alien humanoid that looks a lot like a Founder. Were they the same people?

If so then they should have been perfectly aware of the Alpha Quadrant with the ability to get there. Odo's presence proves that, along with other events like Odo's encounter with a "child changeling" that ultimately assisted him in returning from a solid to a changeling.

According to Robert Hewitt Wolfe, The Dominion had been aware of the Federation for some time before the discovery of the wormhole but didn't anticipate encountering them for another 200 years. Even if the Federation had adhered to their demands to remain in the Alpha Quadrant, The Dominion probably still would have invaded.

The very idea of the Federation a free, egalitarian, democratic and multi-world government is a threat to the founders control over the various member worlds of the Dominion. In the rare possibility that the Founders were convinced that the Federation was no threat, the same could not be said for the Klingons, Romulans or Cardassians. The Dominion going to war with any of these powers would have eventually embroiled the federation.
