Could the Q continuum survive the end of the universe?

Does each Universe have their own version of The Continuum, or do they exist on a level above the ocean of realities within the Multiverse? Are there MU Q? Oh God - never do MU Q.

What we consider the Multiverse - an infinite or near infinite number of parallel physical Universes - might simply be the lowest tier in the grander scheme of reality.

I think it's a bit like the Time Lords; they are singular with an existence separate and above our Universe.

I thought the Q exist beyond time as most everybody else understands/lives it? Aren't they non-corporeal entities? They're probably even more powerful than Species Ten-C, the "Wormhole aliens" or Species 8472, etc because they don't appear to need physical technology, that we can see anyway, to do what they do.

Well, when they are children, they need mirrors.... ;)

jkk

I do think of them as multiverse inhabitants.

One interesting universe concept is the weakness universe with no weak nuclear force. Fusion only. You can have stars and planets and life I think.

No nuclear weapons could exist here that needed fission components.

To track a Q down in a universe like ours would be a one way trip. He would be powerless once he got here. Or a Metron or Doud would be if not the Q.

I imagine the combined will of the Q could just stop the universe from ending all together.
Came here to basically say this^ The question itself imho is moot, due to the existence of the Q. It kind of seems that having the ability to be immortal would be impossible were they not also able keep the universe that way as well.

I mean in Deja-Q he finds it a rather simple undertaking to change the gravitational constant of the universe. So the manipulation of the physics of the universe itself is within their abilities

Simple, just hack the source code and change the variable for gravitational constant....

For the Q, it's super easy.....barely an inconvenience.

I recall in "The Q and the Grey" de Lancie's Q says the Q have always existed, although he didn't specify more beyond that statement. Maybe Picard, Season 2 will enlighten us further?

Indeed.
Though VOY suggested the Q achieve what they do among other things because of the technology they have... its just their technology is so far beyond that corporeal species aren't advanced enough to scan for it... though its possible that with increased contact with the Q, the UFP would gain the ability to better understand how Q channel energy... might get underlying crude understanding of their technological base... etc. and much earlier on than other species which the Q hadn't contacted.

A good question. I don't know for sure if they would or not.

My head cannon is they are a product of the Universe, not its creators.

Funnish speculation though, if they can, I can see them all gathering inside a tiny bubble universe of their creation at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, sipping drinks while musing over everything that occurred during its existence. ;-)

Is this unverse of ours even home to the Q?
Perhaps they're just visitors and what happens here doesn't affect their realm in any way.
Or maybe Q is originally from this universe but over time have evolved into something that can create a realm of their own.
Our universe has no meaning in that place.

If they could go back in time to before the Big Bang, I imagine they could live through anything that happens on the tail end of creation.

The Q seem quite happy jumping universes. You don't need to survive something if you can just avoid it. It worked for the Xeelee, after all.

And in VOY: "Death Wish" Quinn says: "It [death] would force the Q to deal with the unknown for the first time since the New Era began." This suggests the Q had a definite beginning, at least from their own perspective.

I thought the Q were unique in that they were almost a force of nature. “Beings” from the very beginning of the universe/multiverse. In which case, it might be difficult for them to escape its destruction inasmuch as they’re somehow a part of it. Maybe they could escape the destruction of “a” universe like we could lose an arm and go on, but they couldn’t lose all the multiverse without being different beings. Maybe that’s why they fear us. We might evolve into them and not be limited in the same way.

If one Q got bored after a few billion years in a universe full of wonders, everything from supernovae to single-celled organisms devouring each other... a lot more of them might suffer from ennui after a few quadrillion years in a frozen, starless, spread-out void where nothing happens.

Maybe that's how the Big Crunch (under current cosmic forecast, impossible) happens: the Q continuum get bored and implode themselves (and everything else) in an act of mass suicide. Alan Dean Foster suggested something similar in "Glory Lane".

Did they survive that recent book universe thing? Were there separate Q there anyway or there's just one group watching everything?
