odd numbered Star Trek film? I think it's a possibility. Although I'm not in favor of re-casting or rebooting, but with all the hype I think it could still be the most-successful Trek film to-date.

I dont always concider making the most money to necesarrily mean the most successful. One can make a lot of money with a really crappy movie if he played his cards right.

Well actually Star Trek the Motion Picture is current most successful Trek movie ever at the box office(worldwide gross circa: 350 million adjusted for inflation). So your logic isn't quite accurate.
Also if XI movie duplicate smilier success, it would mean the 2 biggest Trek film at box office will be odd numbered movies.

Although TMP is the most successful money wise, you don't hear to many people talk about TMP much...

Well, Nemesis was the first even numbered flop.
Fate should deem this to be the first odd numbered box office hit. Well, one would hope.

TMP has quite a respectable fan following on this board; its status as a poor movie is far from undisputed (I'd dispute it myself, for the record).
