Could some objects that burn up in the atmosphere be....

Technically there would be a non-zero probability, but you could say that about stars in a galaxy somewhere randomly arranging themselves into the complete works of Shakespeare; both scenarios, though technically not impossible, exist only in the realm of the imagination. Jumping to the conclusion that it's aliens would be like a cowboy hearing hoofbeats and thinking "Unicorns!".

If such a war happened close enough to Earth that the debris managed to reach Earth, then we would have detected it.

I heard that, like the original asteroids that fell to earth (#Bowie-was-right) and brought the Building Blocks of Life to our nascent, bereft-of-life planet, these new objects are sent by Extra Extra Terrestrials to seed our Burgeoning Orb with the Zye Goats of their Young.

So they can...mature...

:wtf:

Heard from whom?

pieces of destroyed starships from aliens who are at war with each other?
If you know where to look, you can go outside and see the ISS in low Earth orbit with the naked eye on a clear day.

NORAD, NASA, and many other military and space organizations around the world track tens of thousands of objects in orbit 24/7 to prevent collisions, track satellites, calculate the path of satellites and meteorites falling to Earth, monitor launches and space missions, etc.

Dozens of nations have hundreds of satellites in higher orbits whose sole job is to look back down at every square inch of Earth. There're also people in orbit pretty much continuously now.

Between us looking up and them looking down, it would be pretty hard to miss a space battle going on in orbit, even without the usual Hollywood inaccuracies like visible lasers and fiery explosions in space.

Good point. Besides, the way we run this planet, there's not much left worth fighting over. There's still a chance, though, that someone is building a hyperspace highway... ;) *grabs towel*

Actually, you are not far off. Most civilized worlds like to do 'flybys' of backwater planets that haven't fully developed. In such cases, when the world is particularly obnoxious, they jettison thier lavatory waste-holds.

Clue is in the same..asssteroids. All starting to make sense now?
