Corner Gas "Spock vs. Darth Vader"

In the outstanding Canadian sitcom two of the members of the cast bring up for discussion who would win a fight between Spock and darth vader. It was just thrown out as a comment and never really discussed.

Any comments?

Actually it was discussed later in the episode when Karen is trying to explain why she slept with Hank she says to Davis that Hank was saying something about Darth Vader fighting Mr. Spock and Davis replies that Darth Vader wouldn't fight Mr. Spock he would fight Captain Kirk and that would be a good fight. That was a particularly hilarious episode of the series.

Even with a phaser, I see Vader kicking Spock's ass. Hate to say it, Spock. I think you're great, but that's just the way it is. Remember what happened when Solo tried to shoot Vader on Cloud CIty?

Let's see ... bare-handed, the best thing Spock has is the Vulcan neck pinch. Darth, on the other hand, has the Vader throat pinch ... and he doesn't even have to touch him. I suspect in Star Wars terms, Spock has some Force sensitivity and heightened strength, but not nearly enough to take on the Emperor's right hand man. Armed, the odds even out a bit more, but probably not enough. Vader could probably shrug off a phaser set to stun, but would that palm-deflection trick work with a phaser set to vaporize? That's a lot more energy to be re-directed than you'll get from a blaster.

The simple fact is that Spock wouldn't get in a fight with Vader. He'd observe from the sidelines as others fight the Sith, then advise Kirk on his weaknesses.

Kirk would then press the "OFF" switch on Vader's torso and bed Princess Leia.

Spock would remotely reprogram Vader's chest panel. Then, push this button, and... Macarena!
