Coolest ideas in Star Trek

I'll start with Voyager's "Latent Image", I love the idea Voyager had another main (or at least recurring) character all along and that because (for the purposes of this one episode alone) we were seeing things though the EMH's memories, we never knew her.

I like how Morgan Woodward's Captain Tracey keeps out-Shatnering Shatner in their tussles, while maintaining the advantage until Act Four. It makes one wonder how Tracey might fare against Khan Singh.

"Distant Origin" starting from the Voth archaeologists' perspective is really cool.

The Spore Drive. Go anywhere in the universe. Unfortunately, the execution didn't match the premise.

Also the Dyson Sphere. Someone do a whole show, Trek or otherwise, exploring one of those.

Of course, Trek did it as a B-plot. And then Discovery flew past a Ringworld one time and I wanted to strangle the writers because it was 1000x more interesting than where they were going.

It probably wasn’t intended, but the very first time I saw “The Immunity Syndrome”, I thought it was implied that the galaxy itself had basically evolved humanity et al as long-term antibodies against the space amoeba and things like it. That rather blew my mind at the time.

another one of the coolest ideas in star trek history is i guess the entire galaxy is somewhat open to every alien life form and species

as in like how in the star trek universe many different aliens species from outer space live on earth and or was born on earth
