Conspiracy

...Which doesn't make much sense. I mean, yeah, they haven't disappeared from the universe or anything. But the signal they sent is unlikely to have been a "come here again" beacon. Logically, it should have been a frantic "Abort! Abort!" signal.

I mean, the takeover plan was highly time-critical. The aliens were barely holding Starfleet Command for a quiet weekend, constantly risking exposure; at the same time, their friends were opening a conical corridor of some sort for an approaching invasion, and that, too, could no doubt only remain open for a very short time. The time for invasion was right now, not a day later. However, Picard and friends blew the whistle a tad too early, completely collapsing the delicate plan.

It's highly unlikely, then, that there would be any immediate threat of a rematch. Indeed, a replay of these events would be virtually impossible now that Starfleet knows what to expect - and has probably also told its friends in the Klingon Empire, and even its enemies like Romulans. The parasites might actually be completely negated as a conquering threat force now.

Doesn't mean they wouldn't be back. They just wouldn't be back as a menace worth a story.

Timo Saloniemi

I'm not so sure just how time sensitive the opperation was Timo. The first hint that something wasn't right surfaced during Coming Of Age. In Conspiracy, we learn that personnel had been being reasigned to key posts for quite some time. I was left with the impression that was why SFC was so empty. Yes the invasion was at hand, but I didn't get the sense that they were in any hurry. Consider the fact that Enterprise was just being infiltrated. You would have to think that it would take at least a little while to infest the targeted Officers.

As to your other two points, I completely agree. It would make very much sense that Remmick was sending an 'Abort' signal. And a threat that dangerous is not something I would thing that SF would keep to themselves.
