While I wouldn't call The Unicorn & The Wasp excellent, I think you are a little hard on it - I didn't mind it so much. I'd never rank it anywhere near as low as Love & Monsters which I agree is really, really awful.

Haven't seen Torchwood yet, but I loved all of those episodes.
I had wondered how DWM would utilize the new logo (and which variant of the logo) for the mag. That looks pretty good. What issue is that, btw?
It's not to save money, it's to save time. It lets them film fourteen episodes in the time they would spend on thirteen to have a Doctor-lite episode, as they can shoot two episodes simultaneously by double-banking them.
^ Also, they did thirteen episodes for the 2005 season, which is why there's no Doctor-lite episode that season. The tradition didn't start until 2006, when the addition of the 2005 Christmas special meant they had to film fourteen episodes in the same span of time as thirteen. (Christmas specials, with the exception of "The Next Doctor", have always been filmed with the following season.)

So it has been officially confirmed that the Silurians and Sea Devils are returning? Hopefully it'll be much better than Warriors of the Deep but I have to say I'm not too keen on the make redesign (assuming that's them in the Series 5 trailer).
That aside, a nice line up of writers and stories, although I sad to see no Neil Gaiman on the list but I wasn't holding my breath.
I use to be a Chris Chibnall hater but he did so some very good episodes in season 2 of Torchwood and "The Unicorn and the Wasp," while far from perfect, it's still an enjoyable episode. That being said, I'm no fan of Gareth Roberts.

"The Unicorn and the Wasp" and "Planet of the Dead" were perfectly fine episodes, nice little romps. And I for one happen to adore "The Shakespeare Code" as the perfect Doctor Who comedy-adventure episode. (And Christina Cole ain't too shabby, either.

Oh, you must be having a laugh there. See, Unicorn and the Wasp starred the character of Donna Noble. Now, as we all know, Donna Noble is the most fantastic female companion in the history of everything. Just by her very prescience, she made the episode 10 out of 10. The only way it could be better would be if she suddenly had a twin.
So yes, you must watch Unicorn and the Wasp three times by this weekend. It's the law.
I think 42 was also excluded.
The only work I've seen by Chibnall is "42" as I've not watched Torchwood. However, I really enjoyed that episode which is an opinion that goes against the grain to say the least. That said, I can't say I'm overly fond of Gareth Roberts' return. The Shakespeare Code was just awful.
