just wondering if you have been to concerts this year or planning to go to some?planning to see motley crue\brett micheals when they tour australia in september and van halen\alice cooper when they play the soundwave revolution on october 1st.what about you?.

I might see Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas concert this year. Last time I skipped it because it's basically the same every year and the band has not, AFAIK, released any new music.

Plus, it pisses me off that they stopped using the old format whereby the first half of the concert would be from the various Fresh Aire albums - hey, I love Christmas music too, but I miss some of that old stuff. And I liked it a lot better when they opened the show with this:

(that is not the actual video of course, I couldn't find it on YT :( )

Soundgarden next month.

Same, only when they hit Philly. Should be fun. Narrows the list of bands I must see a lot.

I really wanted to see Cage the Elephant and Foo Fighters touring together, but I think they're only together out west.

U2 next month!! I've had these tickets for almost two years! (Bought them in '09 for the concert they were going to have last June, then Bono hurt his back, and they rescheduled for this year...) I Can't Wait! :techman:

I haven't been to any big gigs this year, last one I went to was Stone Temple Pilots in London last year.

I am going to see Seth Lakeman in September in St Ives, but he won't be known to non-Brits.

I saw Bon Jovi, Kenny G, The Decemberists, Tom Jones, Ruthie Foster, Fourplay and Sonny Rollins among others at Jazz Fest this year. I don't currently have any plans on attending a "concert" in the sense it's being discussed here, but I see live local music on a regular basis.

The New Orleans Jazz Festival has grown to include acts well outside the realm of jazz. This year's lineup also included Lauren Hill, John Legend, Kid Rock, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet, Fantasia Barrino, etc.

I've seen Roger Waters and The Cars this year.

Thursday, the wife and I leave for Las Vegas to see Rush.

:techman:

Sadly, there isn't much going on of interest this summer. We have a big music festival every summer, but the quality of performers varies greatly. One year I happened to see Don MacLean there, which was literally a once-in-a-lifetime performance since he actually said he'd never play here again. That was about 2 years ago, and it was a great year for that festival with lots of great performers.

This year, with a new amphitheater, they seem to be shifting their audience quite a bit. The festival is more or less a folk music festival, but it seems like there will be lots of rock this year to bring in more people, with the headliners being Broken Social Scene and The Weakerthans, none of which interest me.

The festivities surrounding the Four Days Marches event in Nijmegen. Live music, beer, and more beer! :D

None of the concerts interest me much this year. Maybe Journey, if nothing else to say that I've seen all of the lead singers, but I don't know...

None this year but I am going to Rush on the 30th of this month.
speaking of them check out this Video of a 10 year old girl drumming Tom Sawyer

Hi, I'm Amanda. This is my first YouTube video.
I am 10 years old and I've been playing drums for 3 years.
I love Rush... Neil Peart is AWESOME!
My dad told me that if I learned a Rush song I would get to see their concert this month.
What do you think, should I get to go to the concert?

I think it would be cool if Neil saw this and got her back stage passes.
from what I've heard this is an extremely hard song to play with the time changes etc.
