concerts y be too\going too

I just remembered, despite saying I hadn't seen anyone this year, I saw Janelle Monae in March.

I saw Iron Maiden a couple of months ago, and I just bought tickets this morning to see Motley Crue / Bret Michaels later in the year.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Van Halen live, but I refuse to see them at Soundwave Revolution. I will only go and see them if they do a real show, and not some daytime musical sampler for half hearted music fans. Same goes for Steel Panther.

I've seen Roger Waters and The Cars this year.

Thursday, the wife and I leave for Las Vegas to see Rush.

:techman:

Awesome!! I missed them last week down in El Paso because we've been too busy to deal with wildfires.. A friend/local DJ saw them and said it was fantastic as always, but that they've dropped a couple of songs.. Can't remember which ones he said...

The only concert I have tickets for so far is for My Chemical Romance in September.. They're playing with some band called Blink 182, who I guess has a pretty good drummer... :p

Really just going to take my daughter as MCR is her absolute FAV band (of the moment), but I really kinda like their stuff too.

Las Vegas isn't too far from New Mexico....??

We went to Vegas last year and it was a blast. Looking forward to nice trip.

Saw Roger Waters three weeks ago....

What did you think????

I saw that show in February.

It looks like I spoke too soon. It looks like I might be going to see Melissa Etheridge and Serena Ryder on August 18th.

They're currently doing a killer song together:

That Roger Waters concert blew my mind. It was incredible. The sound and visuals were amazing.

We saw Rush in Las Vegas this weekend. Absolutely perfect show.

What blows me away about Rush is that they've been together almost as long as I've been alive.

I recently got a ticket to see Erasure when they come to Toronto in September. I saw them about three years ago, when they were here as part of the Human Rights Campaign tour, but this is a solo tour. I'm really looking forward to it.

Went to see Kyuss Lives! on Friday night. I had no idea what the band was. Turns out 'twas the initial band behind Queens of the Stone Age and Nick Oliveri was in it. I even got a bass pick! Yay!

Kyuss is awesome. Although, if you buy their album, they don't really believe in short songs. Every song has about four or five parts to it and they're not cut to just play the part, which means the shortest song is over 14 minutes if you play it straight through. Perfect stoner metal. Didn't realize they were touring. I see Josh Homme is keeping himself busy.

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently Homme isn't with them? I'm not sure how to feel about that. Sure, it's great Oliveri is there since I think he's a good musician. But he also happens to be a giant asshole, who got fired from QOTSA.

My partner and I went to Rapids Jam and camped out 3 days and 4 nights and had a blast. It was INCREDIBLE. We had the best time (and healed a major rift in our relationship - thank you Sugarland and Lady Antebellum :techman:).

Here's a video (not shot by me) of the Melissa Etheridge concert I went to. It was awesome:
