Hey guys, yet another concept I am playing with. I didn't like where the last one was heading so a shelved it.

This ship has a heavy Excelsior influence as I love that ship. Looking at it now I can also see some influence from one of the DTNE entries in my use of the twin booms. This ship I am placing right between the Excelsior timeframe and Ambassador timeframe. The "Lost" era.

I think I have at this point nailed down the major forms, though some will still be tweaked (those oversized nacelle struts most notably). Time to move on to the next step - detailing. This ship won't have the "thousand window" look of TNG. I am going to try to take style ques from Vektor's Grandeur, though I can never hope to be as good or as detailed. It will be my inspiration piece.

Reminds me of one of the concept designs for the Excelsior

Rather like the Loknar/Phobos design in how the secondary hull terminates, a cross between that and Excelsior. A good start.

Just a jab at my on inability to finish something/short attention span.

Was out of town for the weekend, so no chance to work on this. Will post when I have something new.

Small update today. I actually rebuilt the entire back half of the ship to fix some bad modelling as I developed the design. Nothing you can see in the renders regarding that. Now, new stuff. Started on the main shuttle bay as seen in the following pic. The doors once installed should be just around 20 feet high. I would have liked them a little higher for the main bay, but that would have really fought the lines of the ship.

This next image shows the side view where the only noticeable difference is the reduced size of the pylons. Oh, and my current odds on favorite for the nacelles. Another angle of that nacelle can be seen in the following image and the final image shows a variation of the same nacelle. (turned upside down and some colors moved around, hehe)

At the current scale she is right around 531 meters in length making her longer than an Ambassador class. That may sound rather large for being a ship that predates the Ambassador, but in reality when put side to side the Ambassador still looks enormous in comparison owing to the larger volume of her primary and secondary hulls.

Still trying to decide on a name for the ship. So far I have Boundless, Nomad, Wayfarer, Wanderer and Radiant. Any suggestions? runner up will probably be assigned the class name.

I like Boundless. It's looking pretty good. The shuttle deck nestled inbetween her legs really seems to be a good idea. Can't quite figure out why I like that so much. Maybe name make her the "Dirty Girl Class"
