Computer-animated, or models on strings?

    They hung the models on fishing line -- not strings!

    Nahhhh, they were really mounted on a big huge stands that had electrical cables running through them. The model was usually static and the camera was mounted on a camera truck and a computer controlled the motions of the camera toward and around the model -- simulating "movement" of the model.

    Clever, huh? :)
