Completed Spock Prime bust

Hey guys. I think last year sometime I showed some of the Trek busts I was making. Well here's the first one I finally got around to finishing-- of Spock Prime.

This is the outfit he was wearing at the end of the movie (although it looks like I probably need to paint it a little darker...)

There are no words. That really is a startling likeness. What medium do you work in, and do you have a link to other pieces you've finished (or are working on)?

(edit: never mind... I visited your home page by right-clicking on your user name and following the bread crumb trail. I am absolutely in pea-green envy of your talent. :techman: )

Incredible work. If I may pester you with a few more questions: Is this something you do as a hobby, or are you a professional artist? How many hours would you estimate you worked on the "Spock Prime" bust (from soup to nuts)?

Is paramount paying you to make these? They probably should be.

Ha, I wish. :D

Yeah it's just a hobby (I've had a couple companies express interest in my working with them, but nothing ever came of it).

And it's hard to say how much total time I spent on these, since I do it in such a piecemeal basis. But maybe about 3 weeks overall I'd say. One week for the overall sculpt, 2 weeks to fine-tune the likeness and details, and then half a day to paint.

Beautiful work! Absolutely stunning. Not sure what your profession is...but you should have a career in sculpture! I'd like to see more of your work.

davejames, I first saw that when you posted a link over here to one of the images (the second of the three above, I think.) That's really nice work. :techman:

Perfect!

You SO need to find someone to cast those in resin and sell them as unpainted kits.
