Congratulations, CG.

Gotta tell ya, the whole wedding planning thing has me pretty stressed.
You're going to take each other for granted at some point. Try to be aware of this and keep it to a minimum. Be prepared to always put in more than your share of effort because "what's fair" doesn't always apply and sometimes one of you is going to have go put more into the marriage than the other. Remember that you're in it for the long haul and everyone has their share of problems. Marrying someone isn't about finding that one perfect person, it's about finding someone who means the world to you and saying that you'll make it work even if it's rough. What should I watch out for? What are some common mistakes? Does anyone have a list of creative ways to apologize?
Well Trek fans, tomorrow is the big day. In about 16 hrs, Colonel Green will be a married man. Gotta tell ya, the whole wedding planning thing has me pretty stressed. Never have an outdoor reception!!
Anyway, the real reason I am bumping this ancient thread is to hit you all up for some sage words of advice. How can I make this work? She's a great girl, smart, pretty, likes Star Trek etc, but we still have moments of difficulty from time to time.

After 5 1/2 years of marriage, I have learned one or two things:
1. Talk, and keep talking.
2. Never stop laughing at yourselves
3. Put each other first but still have your own lives
4. Make sure that you both have the same goals.
That's all I've got, really. Best wishes and congrats, Colonel Green!
