Cobra Kai - The Karate Kid Saga Continues

That all makes sense to me, and that Machio was there more to lend credibility/hype for Karate Kid.

Considering the moderate success, I hope they have the guts to retool it to "Kung Fu Kid" and work it that way. Expectations might be lower, but could prove to be a better success.

My famioy thought it was a fun movie, and i liked how Ben Wang's character already had a lot of skill, and it was more realisitc that he's adapting his style to match the contest, rather than become a master in 6 weeks.

Also, interesting that the villain was a part of Into the Badlands, the fantasy martial arts series from AMC, where he played a good guy

Yeah, I really liked that bit and it ended up making for a rather nice twist to the formula.

I've finally completed the final season of Cobra Kai, and I'll confess that I wasn't completely enamoured with it. I have the same issues with it as with some of the events that I've had with earlier seasons where the action and brutality have been way over the top and with hardly any following consequences. That's an issue I've had with the writing and I guess with the final season, it's pretty on-brand at this point. When the writing is good, it's really good, and they've had really a good grasp of their characters and their story arcs, but at other times I feel like there's so much moustache twirling and the violence is a bit much at times.

According to Charlie Sheen, The Karate Kid was offered to him but his father wouldn't let him walk from another movie he had committed to because of how important it is to keep your word. The studio wouldn't wait for him to do this other movie first because they wanted him to start karate training immediately. That movie he ended up doing was Grizzly II: The Predator.
