Cloverfield II

I'll be the party pooper and say that my wife and I thought it was an awful movie. The characters were completely unlikeable and I didn't care if they lived or died. So if a sequel were made I doubt I'd be interested in seeing it.

QFT. I felt sorry for the monster. The yuppies were just annoying.

What I love about Cloverfield is that it's a monster movie that isn't about the monster. We don't know where it came from, or what it wants. That's not the point of the film. It's about showing what happens to the people who find themselves trapped in the center of it all. It was a great film and I love the way it was executed. It really doesn't need a sequel.

Perhaps the monster could get someones video camera stuck in his teeth while he eats them, and we see the rest of the movie from the perspective of its mouth.

^That would be fucking awesome, if nausea inducing.

I do, however, agree that it doesn't warrant a sequel, but then, I'm not really a fan of sequels.

I'd like to know more about the monster and see an exploration of the impact this event has in the everyday world. Maybe do a psuedo documentary with talking heads and additional footage.

Another vote for a sequel here. I liked Cloverfield and wouldn't mind seeing another one.
I have no doubt it will happen.

I'd rather see someone make "A Colder War" by Charles Stross into a movie -- Cthulhu and Oliver North -- which one is the monster?

I'll throw in another vote for no sequel

Shitty movie, shitty characters. Best left on the scrap heap to be forgotten IMO.

I vote no. It was a daring film and a great theater experience, and it ended. It's best not soiled by a pathetic cash-in.
