Cloverfield - AICN Knowles wild about film!

I was planning on seeing Cloverfield anyway, the Trek teaser is just a nice bonus.

I'm working all next weekend, though, so I'll probably have to wait until next Monday or Tuesday to see it.

AICN likes a lot of movies. I don't give a fuck what they say.

Just to qualify, I gave a fuck because it should mean positive buzz for Cloverfield and thus the Star Trek trailer.

And an unsuspecting elderly couple, confused by the indistinct title, will be in every showing - making loud disguntled comments thoughout the entire movie.

Heh...reminds me when I saw Batman Begins. During the end credits, two old women were walking out of the theater grumbling to themselves, "Ugh...this was terrible! No story! Just straight beat-em-up for two hours! We should have seen "Mr. & Mrs. Smith!"

True Story.

What happened when Harry doesn't say anything?

Those old farts just want mindless action. They prefer cr&p.

They would have hate "Mr. & Mrs. Smith". :guffaw:

That's :censored: hilarious!

I'm not a religious reader of Harry's reviews but I just don't trust the guy, by and large. I've either strongly agreed with him or strongly disagreed with him too many times to put much stock in what he says. At least as far as a barometer of what I'll go see, anyway. Seems to me he often lets his buddy-buddy relationship with some filmmakers colour his opinions.

Regardless, Cloverfield looks cool so I'll be checking it out for sure!

I often think that, too. But then, he usually creams over Michael Bay's movies, and he only gave Transformers lukewarm praise. I'm not a Bay fan AT ALL, but quite enjoyed T-formers.

Also, the Island, to an extent.

No story? That's the most absurd criticism of Batman Begins I've ever heard from anybody, usually its its "To much story not enough action" is what I hear.

"Mr. & Mrs. Smith!" - Was more of a beat'm up by comparison.
