News Clone Wars spin-off-- The Bad Batch

2 years ago a crack commando unit was sentenced to death by a military court for an order they didn't execute. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security Imperial stockade to the Outer Rim's underworld. Today, still wanted by the Empire, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...The Bad Batch...
*blaster fire*
*cue the music*

It occurs to me that Dee Bradley Baker will be preforming the entire main cast.
Has that ever been done before? I mean voice actors always do multiple roles but has there ever been a show where one person does *every* major character? ...Well, maybe not every. One assumes there'll be some kind of non-clone supporting cast. *fingers crossed for Roger the last Battledroid*

Side note: I guess now we know why the specifically chose the Bad Batch arc to kick off the final season of Clone Wars.

When I saw "The Bad Batch," I thought that we were going to have another show during the Clone Wars era. I'm happy to see that they're going to go into the post-Order 66 era. I wonder if we'll see any of Rex, Wolffe and Gregor in the mix. Maybe not as regulars but recurring.

If Bad Batch is coming out in 2021, then they've been working on it for a while now. The episodes are written for these animated shows 2-3 years before they ever air because of how long the animation process takes.

An interesting idea, though I am always leery of Star Wars without the Jedi. Now I could see the Bad Batch being immune from Order 66 due to their genetic malfunctions, but I would love to see Vader involved.

Like I said, it's probably not a coincidence that they chose to go with Bad Batch arc for TCW's final season. They probably rolled right out of TCW and into this.

Incidentally, the lead writer on this show is Jennifer Corbett, who wrote three of the better episodes of Resistance. I wouldn't be surprised if that gig was a warm-up and/or try-out for this show. What's interesting is that she doesn't appear to have done any animation prior to this, with most of her experience (going by IMDB) seemingly in live action procedurals.

I'm a tiny big disappointed, I was really hoping for another show in the era between The Original Trilogy and The Sequel Trilogy.
I liked The Bad Batch episodes, so I'm sure it'll be good, it's just not the direction I was hoping they'd go.

It makes sense they're keeping the animated and live action shows apart. The former need a much longer lead time so aren't as agile to react to a TV show that can be done from script to broadcast in about half the time.

Something tells me this will be a quick 2 season series like Resistance. I'm glad they made Echo a part of the group in the revamped season 7 eps and I hope he continues on the new series.

Cool, I liked those episodes.
Maybe they'll help Ashoka and Rex, or some other leftover Jedi, maybe Kannen?
But having a series to see the fallout of Order 66 and the Early years of the Empire consolidating its rule.
Wonder how many systems tried to leave the Empire/republic and got blasted.. we shall see!

This sounds like a neat idea. I hope they stick with the Clone Wars animation style. I have a feeling we'll see Rex, probably Wolffe and Gregor, too, but probably not Ahsoka. I think she'd probably be well into hiding at this point.

I doubt we'll see Ahsoka. Rex and company maybe. When it comes to familiar characters showing up though, I think we're a lot more likely to get the likes of Hondo, Embo, Saw, Sugi, the Trace sister, maybe even Maul, Dryden Vos and other underworld types.

I don’t know

And these are the guys who pretty much called this show being a thing back in June, so they have credibility.

Doesn’t sound that interesting to me. Rather have something with laser swords set outside the movies.

Maybe they can even somehow work in a younger Admiral Konstantine from Rebels, who was also voiced by DBB. IIRC, he's the only non-Clone character DBB voiced in Clone Wars or Rebels.

I'll be very surprised if they don't show up at some point, even if it's just one episode. It's not like they'll have difficulty finding their voice actors.

Well, not Kanan, anyway. Based on how he reacted when he met the Clones on Rebels and the fact he didn't believe Rex when he said his chip was removed, I don't get the impression he was helped by any Clones after Order 66.

Ohhh, that explains why they didn't have the second set of episodes with the Bad Batch on Kashyyyk at the end of the Clone Wars. That would likely be the first episodes on The Bad Batch.
