At the very least watch the first season. Addictive as hell and the show's best season. The rule of thumb with 24 is that the odd numbered seasons are better than the even numbered ones. But even when things get ridiculous the show's still fun (and unintentionally funny) to watch.
I dunno, I think 4 is worth watching for the nonsense, and S7 for the change of venue.
Season 6, and maybe to a point Season 8 when it comes to DVD are the only ones I'd say to skip.
Agreed. Season 4 is just as ridiculous as season 6 or 8, but it never stops having FUN with its complete insanity. 6 and 8 certainly did/have.I dunno, I think 4 is worth watching for the nonsense, and S7 for the change of venue.

I will say my piece.
I've seen every episode since the first. I have loved the show from the beginning. I do not think it jumped any sharks and it has not gone downhill enough that I would ever abandon it. If it gets a movie I will happily go to see it. If it kept getting renewed until Jack Bauer is chasing terrorists in a Hover-round and gumming "GET ON THE GROUND! >kaff, kaff< GET ON THE GROUND NOW!!!" I would still watch it religiously.
24 is one of the best television shows ever made. Cancel it if you must, but a pox on all thee who dare say it's no longer worth watching.
Just my opinion.
The Gina Torres storyline was one of the more banal subplots they've done (other than the wham-bang ending, which could have come about in various far more interesting ways) so you really didn't miss much there. That was the first "We have to have a presidential storyline, right?" that teetered on the edge of boredom, but boy oh boy did they find ways to make those plots worse as the years went on.Eh, I tried it a couple of times but it couldn't hold my attention, even when Gina Torres was on.![]()
