Classic Who Marathon on Sci-Fi (UK)

Oh was the bulk of the explicit stuff only in the books/audios? I'm not familiar with what's where, I just know I hate the very idea of it let alone it actually happening or, gods forbid, being true.

Why ruin the quintessential mystery of who the Doctor is? Having his race is one thing (and from I've seen an awful thing at that) but writing in some convoluted previous incarnation bilge? No.

^ UKTV Gold shows the first two series of NuWho at 7am most mornings. UKTV Drama has one classic serial at something like 6am on the weekend.

This is no great loss.

From what little I've seen, no it's not.

I mean, do we really want the newer fans getting the ridiculous idea in their heads that the Doctor was the Other and all rubbish?

I've only seen Remembrance and Survival, admittedly.

But that was enough. I can't stand McCoy's Doctor even though I like him as an actor in other things. Also, Remembrance is by the the shittest Dalek story ever - and I'm counting Evolution of the Daleks.

I'd suggest giving Fenric a try. Might not make you love him but, IMO, it's probably his best serial.

I definitely think Remembrance.. is awfully overated.

I rewatched Battlefield recently and actually didn't mind it so much. It's not so bad if you can get over the awful, intrusive trashy electronic music typical of the latter JNT period, as well as the bad fight coreography and overacting (from the regulars as well as from the others) and the overall bad direction. Suggest a few slabs of beer or some kind of mind numbing narcotic to negate these effects and hey, it's quite watchable :)

I was surprised to see this on Sci-Fi as its always only on UKTV or BBC Three or the like.

I saw it on wednesday night and had to ask my other half what channel it was on, sure wnough, it was sci fi uk.

Not a great lineup as i had hoped for, but its better than nothing. see if i can catch a few here and there.

And im with Squire, im always up early and was always watching Blakes 7 then Who, its not on anymore, it lightened my day.

And yeah, the people who write the synopsis on sci fi are hilarious, its so tongue in cheek and a dig at the show wether it be crap, good or stupid they always have something to make you smile.

I hated most of the McCoy stories, but Battlefield is one of my favorites. How can you not enjoy a story with the Brigadier in it? And U.N.I.T. finally being shown as more multinational than it ever was in the Pertwee/Baker seasons? And what about Brigadier Winifred Bambera? She's an absolute hoot!

Why are they showing Pyramids of Mars inbetween Revenge of the Cybermen and The Ark in Space? That's all out of order and won't make sense at all.

Ah well, I'm moving house tomorrow and I just can't afford even the bog standard TV license  Perhaps I'll get a chance to check out the BBC channels later in the year. For now I'll watch my few taped episodes a couple of times.

Well technically you don't need a licence to watch iPlayer... only live broadcasts...
