Just a heads up, it looks like Sci-Fi Channel UK are having a Doctor Who Marathon over the Bank Holiday weekend.

One of these days I'd like to see a complete (as in, complete as you can make it) Who marathon. It'd probably run for a month or so, but it would be nice..

My optical nerves nearly strangled my windpipe out of excitement until I saw (UK) in parenthesis.

Exactly why I put (UK) there, so as not to get any hopes up.
Yeah, ours sucks. I haven't seen classic Doctor Who on American tv since I was a kid.
No Hartnell (the original, you might say). No Pertwee. No McCoy. Colin and Pat had to share a story... An overdose of Tom foolery. I'd have swapped Warriors of the Deep for practically anything else.

Back In 1993 UK Gold had a Who weekend - with a phone vote
Some how Warriors, Warrior's Gate & The Horns Of Nimon won!
Good for me though I'd not seen any of them.

That list is almost identical to the selection made for the UKTV Drama Who weekend, except that had An Unearthly Child, Curse of Fenric and some 9/10 episodes. I'll be setting the recorder for the ones I haven't seen though.

Depends on what you like. Both Warriors from the Deep and The Movie are pretty dire, but for some they are still worth it - Warriors.. sports a monster that's so ridiculous and badly handled by the production it's actually quite funny, and The Movie features McGann's only onscreen appearance as the Doctor coupled with some exceedingly good set design for the TARDIS interior. The story is, however, absolute cack.
Revenge of the Cybermen and The Two Doctors are pretty bad too, though I've warmed a little to Revenge.. of late (the cybermats were excellent
) and The Two Doctors has some decent comic moments along with Troughton and Hines reprising their respective roles (though Troughton should have had a bigger part to play than he did). The Sontaran costumes are pathetic though, so be warned.

I have seen the movie I don't mind it that much. I've also seen The Two Doctors which I thought was awful. I'll check out the others I haven't seen though. Thanks
I'm actually looking forward to Warriors since it's been so long since I've seen it (the Myrka can't be that bad...can it? ) The Two doctors has it's moments but it's really quite an odd tale, and the less said about the Sontarans the better. Still does have Jaqueline Pearce in it (strangely playing Servalan again!)
Other than Warriors I'm looking forward to Pyramids, Logopolis, Face of Evil and the Ark in Space.

I thought they were showing the movie?
Logopolis and Face of Evil are two episodes that intrigued me but I never got to see them either on the Beeb or UKTV Gold.
It's not a great line up perhaps, but then the original broadcaster (BBC) and a channel half funded by them (UKTV Gold) would have first dibs on showing them.
I wish the old Saturday morning line up of an episode of Blake's 7 at 630 followed by a Doctor Who omnibus was still on
