Cinderella story. Outta nowhere...

Looking at Bush's approval ratings for his first year reveals that he was down to 51% after only 8 months. Taking 12 months to get there is an improvement.

Then Bush had 9/11 which will make direct comparison of the two presidencies for the second and third year pretty difficult.

Well the American people have spoken clearly. We want health care reform but not the dismantling of our current system. The people of Massachusetts have done us all a great favor.

Obama is tied to the bill that was killed off. If he doesn't want his presidency to meet the same fate he needs to move to the center. I, for one, will be waiting.

The question is, is he more tied to his left-wing ideology or will he pragmatic?

He's not very left wing. He's liberal, and there is a difference.

I would agree that there is a difference. But I would disagree that he's not left-wing. Either way, he needs to move significantly to the center if he wants to gain back many of the people who voted for him.

It's RACHEL Maddow. Can't any of you guys spell?

ETA- seriously, if you're going to gloat, you should at least spell your enemies' names right.

Yeah, cause Lord knows that the Dems can't get their own people's names right.

She's not the enemy. Larry King draws more viewers than she does. She's there so the network can play to its base. Otherwise they'd get someone in there who doesn't get pummeled by a 3+ to 1 margin on a nightly basis.

And if you look at every one of those polls you picked his disapproval numbers are still lower than his approvals.

That's really cool but that doesn't have anything to do with the question asked that he answered.
Actually, it does. If more people like him than dislike him it's not a factor in your favor.

Still nothing to do with the original question and answer. But not enough to lose your cool again.

Well the American people have spoken clearly.
No. The people of a state that has universal health care and love it spoke clearly.
The mandatory health care system started by a Republican? Costs are going up yet again and people are sick of it. No, we don't love it and our Cadillac of governors says he's gonna have to ration services as I said in the UHC thread (with links).

But don't worry, it looks like Reid, Pelosi (she vants to suck your vallet) and the hack Obama are going to go even more underhanded and pass a health care bill even though the majority don't want any part of it.

Odd, but I'm pretty sure I read only recently that the people of Massachusetts are quite happy with the state's UHC.

The Globe article added: "Amid a severe recession that has led to cuts in state programs and unrelenting job losses, 59 percent of those surveyed said they favored the state's multi-million dollar insurance initiative, down from 69 percent a year ago.

The September poll also found that "opposition to the law stands at 28 percent, up slightly from 22 percent in a June 2008 survey" and that "only 11 percent of state residents favored repealing the law, similar to last year's finding."
