Chuck status? Dead or alive?

Doubtful Chuck would be on Mondays on CBS. It's historically a half-hour comedy lineup. And then a drama in the 10pm slot, which would be much too late to put a show like Chuck on.

You don't waste the 10pm adult slot with an 8 or 9pm family-friendly show.

Plus CBS has already got CSI Miami in that slot which seems to be doing well for them.

They have the option for more than 13 episodes, but they're planning for that to be it. So it will basically run unbroken from March until May.

I'm mixed about the plans for next season. Some ideas (and castings) are quite good; others I could live without. As it stands, they have a pretty solid arc for the first 9 episodes. My guess is that season 3 will play out in a very similar way that the last 8 or 9 episodes of last season did, i.e. a tight series of 13 episodes that build upon one-another.

I'm delighted with Mercy, Trauma and Heroes.

These three alone almost seal Chuck's survival for a further season.

Wee-eelll....

Chuck's demo at the close of last fall was 2.4/6. After a long hiatus, I'd expect a demo in the low 2's.

Mercy and Trauma are new shows, tho, and they're doing as good now as they ever will. For a new show to have an old-show demo is a fatal sign.
