How could anyone hate Chuck?

Sure, Jon spent nearly a decade loathing his own government, but this is intentionally entertaining.

Chuck makes me so happy. I kind of got wrapped up in the excitement of the new Trek movie, but now that I've seen it, all I want is for my Chuck to come back.

I am going to ball if it doesn't get renewed.

^Likewise.

I, too, have been going through Chuck withdrawals. So I just finished watching the last two episodes of the season again on Hulu. And even though I have seen each around a dozen times now and usually when I watch a show more than once I fall asleep, these episodes still had me glued. Everything from Chuck and Sarah's near consummation to "I know kung fu", it had me cheering for our pal Chuck the whole way through.

If NBC commits a travesty and doesn't bring this show back for a third season, we are all going to have to burn down their offices and studios.

I've definitely heard Monday is already off the table. I wouldn't be surprised if the show ended with a 13 episode third season. I could deal with that.

Brilliant NBC. Brilliant. And you wonder why you're in last place. Chuck does better on Mondays then any of your shows you've debuted all year which have far less competition. Thursdays would have been perfect. Wednesdays would have been fine. But you seem intent on killing one of your only shows people actually like.

13 is better then nothing. I hope the writers won't be deluded like they were this season and think they actually have a prayer of a mid season renewal or a 4th season. NBC is giving them a chance to end it obviously. Because Fridays is death to a show. Chuck is a consistent show that NBC obviously doesn't really want, but feels they have no choice to take it. Ben Silverman needs to be fired ASAP.

Well, X-Files made it as a 8pm Friday show. In fact, it did it's best there before it was moved to Sundays. So there is a precedent of a quality show thriving in that slot. And it may not stay there, as they will likely shuffle around their schedule when Trauma flops and brings Heroes down even more. Or when Parenthood flops, they can move Biggest Loser to 9pm (or oblivion for all I care) and open up the 8pm Wed slot for Chuck.

They really think Trauma is a better lead in to Heroes than Chuck? It sounds ridiculous to me. Chuck/Heroes has the geek factor working for it, as well as both are adventure shows. Trauma/Heroes sounds more like oil meets water as far as overlapping audiences are concerned. I hate medical dramas. Look at how many there have been in the last decade alone. How much more material is there to plumb? It will just be crap everyone's seen before with new actors plugged into the appropriate plot points. Heroes has been sinking the last couple of years, and would have likely done even worse without the Chuck audience sticking around. I guess they just want to see how bad they can make it doing it all on their own.

It really sounds like NBC needs some fresh blood in their programming department. Someone with an eye for trends and flow. Because the people they now have seem to all have their heads up their asses and keep telling themselves their shit smells like roses. I know I could do a better job. As well as many other posters just from this thread alone.

There's PLENTY of room for NBC's new shows to crash and burn, particularly Leno who's completely oversaturating the primetime lineup and going up against scripted competition for the first time. I'm fully expecting that to be a bloodbath that will send NBC running away screaming like a little girl and reducing the number of nights Leno is on.

Apparently they've never heard of viewer fatigue by airing the same show that many times a week (Who Wants to be a Millionaire or The Weakest Link, anyone?).

Or just give Leno all three hours on Saturdays (which right now are scheduled for "reruns"). NBC had better have strong contingency plans ready for mid-October.

FINE then! Throw down the gaunlet, the Chuckwallahs will show you who's boss.

Hey it isn't hard for a show on the Friday Deathslot to be a "hit." ;)

NBC's fall lineup is already a disaster. Heroes will hang onto its loyal core audience - anyone who stuck with it this long after all the crap they put us thru is in for the duration - while surrounded by cratering timeslots. But I do like the fact that they have "trauma" and "mercy" - there will be plenty of the former and none of the latter. :rommie:

I think both shows have their own audience and whatever overlap exists (me for instance) is coincidental. From that perspective, wherever they move Chuck is fine. The viewers who care will find it; nobody else is watching.

So, 13 episodes on Fridays? I'd rather have 22 and then hang it up, but oh well. 13 is better than nothing. It's obvious that NBC doesn't care. God I wish Chuck would just move to USA. It'd be a hit. And it fits into their "Characters Welcome" mold.

I don't mind having just 13 episodes left (ie having Chuck on Fridays). This is not a series that can go 7 seasons ...

My only point of concern is whether the writers will realize that if that schedule happens, they need to write a proper series finale and also plan for it ahead of time.

I agree, if this happens then the writers should plan for it, much like they did this past season. Give us a proper finale as well as some good moments with Chuck and Sarah.
