Did she have to kill the other guy?

Because Ned Ryanisen, a name previously used by bob from heroes coincidentally enough in Groundhog day, would have to be an idiot not to notice that all roads lead to Chuck.
Hopefully we get an explanation in an upcoming episode that either she or Casey did 'take care' of ole Ned afterwords, I LOVE seeing the bad guys get silenced and not just taken to jail

Of course they have really written themselves into a corner, if Fulcrum though enough to send a "top guy" to find out what was going on, they are going to keep trying.

Not looking forward to the reset they pull out of their butts to keep the show as it is.

What she did was cold-blooded murder by the legal definition.
I don't even think the law has a legal definition for "cold-blooded" murder. Whether it's even first- (pre-meditated) or second-degree murder is probably debatable since Sarah had not initially set out to kill the Fulcrum agent but did so in response to a threat.

I think you're also using a different definition of cold-blooded than I am. To steal from the dictionary, it's "lacking feeling or emotion" which definitely isn't Sarah in that scene. It's the exact opposite, in fact. You can see by the look on her face the Fulcrum agent got to her on an emotional level (what he thought he was going to accomplish by threatening Chuck besides getting shot, I have no idea).

I have no doubt Sarah's done way worse in the past. She's just not that calculating when it comes to Chuck. He throws Sarah off her game. Even Casey has commented on it.

She didn't shoot him because she was "rattled," but because according to the story logic, that's what she had to do, in order to do her job.
To each their own, I suppose. I see emotion written all over her face. She does a little gulp when he starts threatening Chuck. Sarah even looks down and hesitates a second before pulling the trigger.

I absolutely agree Casey would have done it too. But he wouldn't have been rattled by it or waited nearly so long to do it. He probably would have even enjoyed it.
