Christopher Nolan Film Rankings

Since The Dark Knight Rises just came out, this is my ranking of Nolan's seven major films starting with Memento:

1. Batman Begins
2. The Prestige
3. The Dark Knight
4. The Dark Knight Rises
5. Memento (I know this is one that a lot of people rank higher, but while it's an exceptionally clever piece of filmmaking, it doesn't inspire any great attachment from me to the people in it, nor does it really try to; something like TDKR, while a lot less precise in its construction, just has more character and emotion to it)
6. Inception
7. Insomnia

Insomnia is the only one of those I rate in the B range. The rest are in the A+ to A- category.

Dark Knight --well-told story with an awesome villain
Inception
Batman Begins --solid origin story, if a bit too dreary
Prestige
Insomnia
Dark Knight Rises -- dull, ridiculous and unfocused story, with a boring villain

Memento and Inception would be somewhere near the top. Then the Batman movies, then the Prestige (or maybe the Prestige somewhere between Batman movies) and I haven't seen Insomnia.

Following is an excellent film and I highly recommend it to any Nolan fan.

I haven't seen The Dark Knight Rises yet (it doesn't come out until the 27th in Japan), but here's my list anyways:
