Well the tree stays up until Epiphany (January 6th). So it's just not a couple of days.

I never understood the significance of putting Christmas trees up on specific days. Basically any time you have a few free hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas seems good enough to me.

I guess it's tradition. We are in the season of Tradition afterall.

Probably just habit. Sometimes you just don't notice things, they simply occur.

I put mine up when I get around to it which has been anywhere from a week into December to the night before. I take it down hopefully before February but one year suddenly it was Easter and it was still there

I'm not one for tradition, we make up different themes and have different decorations, costumes, food and also the actual date we have it on every year. Due to people's work commitments (otherwise known as double time pay) we haven't had it on the 25th in well over ten years.
