Christmas Shopping

So how's your Christmas/Holiday shopping going?

Me? No so well. I've still got to get gifts for my mom, dad and sister-in-law. (I've got gifts for my best friend, brother, and niece.)

I've little idea what to get those three people and my available time to get gifts is running short. :(

I was done long ago, but I don't have too many people to buy for. Do you want some advice? Maybe tell us a little more about these people and some of us will have gift suggestions for you!

I am almost done, actually - and I love to give presents so we buy for a fair number of people. The big question mark is my MIL, who is really difficult to buy for and doing so seems to get harder as the years go by instead of easier. The good news is that she always comes over on Christmas morning, so at least we don't have to ship it ahead of time, and I have next week off. So I might be shopping for her on Monday or Tuesday.

I do have to ship quite a few presents, though, and that's not done yet. Oh, well.

Bought, wrapped, distributed... and some of it already opened. It's like Christmas has already happened for me because we had an early Christmas with family we'll be separated from. I have to tell you, it's great! I feel like I'm ahead of the game and already got the whole thing done and dusted and over and done with! :techman:

thought I had done all my xmas shopping but just relised i've forgotten the most important pressie one for my partner next day off tuseday off to the shops me thinks

I haven't done any shopping yet... yeah, I'm a procrastinator, but I also find my family members kind of hard to shop for. Thankfully, there's not too many of them; I only really need to get stuff for my parents, sister, and grandmother.

Last year, in lieu of a traditional gift, I took my sister out one night for dinner and a show... I may do the same this year. As for the rest, hmm... not sure yet. My mom, maybe some sort of bath product. My dad... I don't know. Perhaps I'll take him shopping for DVDs, as he's amassed quite a collection. My grandmother doesn't get out much these days, but she does rent movies every week, so maybe I'll get her a gift certificate from Blockbuster, or something.

I ordered a few things off Amazon so far. I'm also going to spend much of Saturday wandering a local mall looking for inspiration.

I haven't done any shopping this year. I've been making homemade gifts this year. My problem is I think I won't get done in time!

Mine's been done for a few days now with the exception of one thing I still need to pick up for youngest daughter. I just need to get over there, have them pull it out from behind the counter and hand over the money. This is the earliest I've been done in years.

I'm getting a bunch of people the same small gift, a card I will pick out for each recipient and some cash when appropriate. I've already made the bulk purchase but I still need to get the cards. I'm hoping to do that tonight. I'm also thinking I should get some $50 bills.

Well, I got it done this afternoon. It sucked.

The hardest thing this year was the price-cap the family decided to put on gifts this year. It was too restrictive for me to stay under it/find gifts for the cap ($25), the only on who's gifts had no cap was the gifts for my 7-year-old niece.

I usualy spent double that on my family.

But, I think I found some decent, functional, gifts everyone will like.

Done all my shopping--finished a week or two ago. A lot of my shopping was done over the internet, mostly on Amazon. I kept most gifts to about 30 bucks per person, on average. My nephew and parents got a bit more

Let's see...generic gift suggestions:
slippers
robes
food baskets
shirts, sweaters
belts, ties
watches
board games
handbags, briefcases
picture frames, albums

I finished gift shopping about a week ago:cool: This year I started buying things bit earlier and managed to avoid the rush I had last year.
Lets face it...the shops are absolutly full of shoppers the few day before Xmas..its crazy really:eek:.
Im glad of things I managed to get, despite this year I really didint have much money for gifts..hopefully it wont be like this next year:alienblush:
Im still waiting few gifts that I ordered from the Net for my gf..but im sure they arrive next week:cool:

I began and finished my son's presents shopping yesterday. Today I just have to buy some gift certificates for a few other children and my dad, then I'm done!

Agreed. I've managed to do that, but it's made Christmas shopping take longer than usual. I think the only gift I got that was more than $25 is the Xbox360 game for my brother that was $29.

Nearly done shopping. A few items left to pick up but at least I know what they are, and where to get them. I've started wrapping but still have plenty more to go. I need to find a couple of decent-sized boxes to fit stuff in (like a box that'll hold all of the new bath towels I bought for my mom).
