Christmas Plans 2009...

Christmas Yay or Nay?

I love Christmas...but I'm not sure what we're doing. I have family spread out all over the place. We are thinking of visiting my mother (and one of my sisters still lives in that town, too), but gosh, traveling over the holidays is so exhausting. So I don't know. We need to decide pretty quick, though, because she lives in California so it's not like we can spontaneously jump in the car and go.

But wherever we do it, it'll be joyful. At least I hope so - it usually is.

What are your plans for Christmas this year? Do you even celebrate it? Will you splurge on gifts or not give any at all? Are you traveling or staying home? Are you cooking a big or small Christmas dinner?

I'll be home for Christmas this year. And for many years to follow since I'm moving closer to home because of work. :)

I'm starting to really hate Christmas. :p
I had the hints of beginning to feel that way until recently because increasingly I was beginning to feel cut off from anything I felt connected to. This year, though, promises potential for change for the better so I'm hopeful.

So where are we on our plans? Anyone have a in situ revelation, and will now mash-up a christmas?

happy, happy, joy, joy...

"Don't make me make you enjoy yourself, now stop crying and have fun."

The only thing I know I'm doing is going to the Patriots game on 12/27, and hoping for another snow bowl.

The last two games I've been to it's snowed a lot, including the fream storm here in October, and they've kicked butt both times. So I figure if I'm there, and it's snowing, they'll win by 40.

I'm probably going to go to Church, and then stay home for the holidays but spend it with family. As for Gifts, last year it was stocking stuffers and that was nice. I'd just assume if I get money I can buy my own gifts, instead of going all out.

I don't get into the Christmas spirit until Christmas Eve, so right now I don't care one way or another. I always enjoy that drive home on the Eve though. Nothing says Christmas like the M25, gridlock, and Driving Home for Christmas on the radio...

I won't be splurging on gifts, but I do plan on finding something for my parents. I'd like to make a Christmas CD for a dear friend I miss far away and send it to her along with her Christmas card. I'll also be playing Santa again and want to improve my own homemade Santa costume. I also have to be creative and find a way for myself and a few coworkers to decorate our store inexpensively for the season.

For my mother I'm thinking along the lines of a large digital photo frame with lots of old family pictures already loaded into it. I'll have to be kinda sneaky to get that done. For my dad what I'd really like to get are a couple of tickets for an NHL game at the Corel Centre in Ottawa, preferably an Ottawa-Toronto (good rivalry) or an Ottawa-Montreal (dad's a Habs fan) match. Problem is NHL tickets for good seats are expensive and it could leave me uncomfortably strapped.

My family is Jewish and we don't do Christmas. Then again, we don't do any holiday really. :p But I have two weeks off, which I'll be spending as always in NJ/NYC visiting friends and family.

Probably this year, our Christmas will be fairly small. I won't travel..never actually travel anywhere these days anymore..so I'll be home probably yet again. We used to travel to my Uncle's lodge for Christmas and Thanksgiving but now since he's sold it and moved away, it's been kinda depressing for me. :( I am thankful to have my family, however small it is, but still sometimes feel I'm missing out on stuff. I don't know..it's been rather hard this year with money being so tight fisted so not sure if I'm gonna get anything or not. I don't need that much..got alot of stuff already..but we'll see. I'm not gonna be all bah humbug about it though. I think if I had a husband and kids to buy for then Christmas would definitely be more cheerful to celebrate. Especially if I had younger kids(a daughter). :) Anyway, we'll see about Christmas this year though.
