Chris Pine appreciation thread

Here's my current desktop wallpaper:

Any guesses as to why?

I think i know why... its because that chart on the wall in back is really interesting! What is that? Solar system/orbits map? Weather something-or-others?

That's so awesome about getting to see Karl! He really did an amazing job as McCoy. Anyone else interesting showing up at comic con?

Casting story:

Seth Rogen and Chris Pine are among the actors being sought to star opposite Reese Witherspoon in the 20th Century Fox comedy "This Means War," TheWrap has learned from an individual familiar with the project.

McG is attached to direct.

The story follows two best buddies whose friendship is put to the test when a woman moves into their spare room. As they fight for her affections, New York City is literally left demolished in their wake -- including such landmarks as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

The latest issue of Production Weekly includes a listing for the project and at the very bottom, which mentions that Fox is chasing Rogen, Pine, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon to play one of the two lead male roles, having offered the other one to James Franco.

The truth is that only Rogen and Pine are being considered for the role of FDR (a character named after the late President because his parents had high hopes for him) -- and Franco has officially passed, according to his representation at WME.

So it's possible that Rogen could segue to the role that Franco was offered -- which happened before with the duo's "Pineapple Express" -- so he and Pine could both conceivably star in the film.

Will we see any of this kind of activity...

OMG, beth, what happened to his bottom lip! ^
I'm going to guess that's from the part of the gag reel where everyone's making funny mouth noises and Chris is sticking his tongue out and going "Thpbpbpbpbpbh!" after blowing a line, or something.

Heh, not bad :D -- look at about 2:32.

Yup - I also like this one from the blooper reel, though it looks as if it's from the film:

I'm sorry, but I've become quite blasé about your feats of magic! ;) J/K. You are still magic. I like your new avatar; did you ever see the Amazing Camouflage octupus video at You Tube?

 It's sort of like trivia -- sometimes I draw a blank, but other times I have a pretty good idea about where to look. This pic just looked to me like Chris was doing that and I hit it in the first place I looked.

I don't think I've seen that particular clip before, but I've seen plenty of pretty amazing footage (PBS's Nature has some nifty installments - click click) on how good octopi and squid are at fading into the background if they don't want to be seen. (The av image I took from an old album cover.)

Well, there has been a lot of call for blue-blood cephalopod palaver around here, what with Spock and his green blood. So it does come in handy.

Also, I dunno -- there is just something sexy about a guy in a wet suit. I wouldn't mind having a picture of Chris in a wet suit. The space suit is pretty good.
