Chris Pine appreciation thread

I love the pictures from Carriers and now I can't wait to see the movie, although it's not my kind of movie at all. It's really too bad it didn't get a wider release since it's getting pretty good reviews.

I've been looking at all the blu-ray screen caps on one of the other threads and there are a ton of good ones. There's one in particular that is quite awesome. It's in the scene with Gaila and Uhura and...um...well.... It's quite something.

Unfortunately, the QuickTime file I use doesn't have any sound; I need to do something to it to get the sound. It works fine for screen caps, but I have no idea what's being said. We have a blu-ray player with wireless access to our share drive in the basement; and I can watch it on the TV, where it has sound, though. I just haven't yet.

So, Pam, what threads are you looking at?

P.S. Leela, I sent you a friend request; you won't be able to get private messages until you get a certain number of posts; but HI. :) Welcome to the Chris thread.

Jeri, in the cap of the title card that you posted, do you know what all those little doohickies are supposed to be? Are they like, little germy microbes or something like that?

Jeri, I have been looking at the thread that is now on page two on this board that's titled "have the blu-ray extras been capped?" Someone posted a link to a website that has a lot of the extras capped.

That's what they look like to me. Whatever the germ is that's got people being "carriers."

Oh, yeah; we had posted that link here already weeks ago, I thought. I saw that thread and noticed they gave the same link we used. I thought you posted some of those weeks ago, too.

Yeah, that was what i figured those things were. Thanks Jer!

Gawd, his lips look especially kissable in some of the carrier pics! *melts*

I may not have gotten to the extras pages and now that I've seen the extras on the blu-ray I went searching for certain scenes. Lots of goodies there.

I went to Netflix; and they have Carriers listed, but just for preorder. Pam, was it you who said it was going to only be available for rental? I heard that somewhere...

No, it wasn't me but I do remember someone posted that. I haven't been too enthused about the movie until I started seeing some of the screen caps lately. May have been on the IMDb board.

I just checked Amazon and they have it listed for pre-order at $13.99 for release on December 29, 2009. At that price I think I will have to order it...maybe.

I haven't watched Confession yet. Got to do that this weekend.

Thanks for the info! I just went and preordered it. I wanted to buy it rather than download it anyway.

I think I'll preorder it as well. I know that I'll want it after seeing more screen caps.

I still need to get Just My Luck and Princess Diaries 2, just because he's so cute in them and the beginning of Just My Luck still makes me chuckle when I think of it.

I really think of all of the ones I've seen him in, other than Star Trek of course, my favorite is Blind Dating. I also like Bottle Shock alot but the hair...<shakes head>. What were they thinking?

I'm sorry, but there is way too much Zoë in those pictures; it violates Randi's rule: "no women in pictures with Chris."

Women must be placed behind room dividers or their faces turned away when at all possible. (Thanks for the beautiful HD screen caps, Pam! ;))

Ohhhh you ladies have been hard at work! Thank you for my morning "pick me up!!"

Heh, Jeri...yes, it's the golden rule. "Thou shalt not have any woman in the photo with Chris!"

From Chris-Pine.org. Sounds good to me.

Producer Mace Neufeld spoke this morning at the Invictus press conference where he also updated the status of the next Jack Ryan film, set to star Chris Pine.
Neufeld confirmed that the new as-of-yet-untitled project will not be based on a Tom Clancy novel but will, instead, be an original screenplay.
The character of Jack Ryan has previously appeared in the Clancy adaptations The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of All Fears, the latter of which represented a previous attempt to reboot the franchise with a younger actor in the lead. Neufeld says that, while the plan is still to skew young with the casting of Pine, the story will not be an "origin story."
"We pick him up when he's on Wall Street," says Neufeld, "...[but] the Jack Ryan movies have never been action films. They're kind of 'thinking man's thrillers.' Jack is referred to as a 'water-walker' because of his ability to jump ahead to conclusions. That's very big in all the Jack Ryan films and that's how we want to portray him. He's a teacher. He's a historian. He's a linguist. And he's really smart."
The first draft has been completed by Hossein Amini and a rewrite by Adam Cozad is set to start soon.

Thanks for the info, Pam. I don't follow Jack Ryan and haven't seen any of the movies; will this upset Clancy fans to not have Clancy in on the story or writing?
