Chris Pine appreciation thread

The movie where he played a blind man is called "Blind Dating". I have no idea whether any of those two movies will be broadcast, though. But considering Chris's rising fame, I'd say it's quite possible. And yes, Chris does have great beauty genes and I'd say he got most of them from his father, actor Robert Pine. :)
"Blind Dating" -- that ought to be pretty easy to remember. Thanks.

As far as the beauty genes -- not to slight his dad at all -- but I was thinking of his grandmother, "Vivid and strikingly beautiful actress Anne Gwynne...", who was one of the top five pinup girls of WWII, a B-movie scream queen, and a model for Catalina swimwear:

Just thinking of something, Jeri: look on your WWW Season 4 for "The Night of the Pistoleros" -- Robert Pine had a guest role, and was roughly the same age then as Chris was during the filming of Star Trek.

I'm watching "The Princess Diaries 2" on the Disney Channel. Chris Pine has darker hair and looks very young here. Young enough to be my son, which makes me feel slightly pervy saying this, but I'll say it anyway:

Day-um! I thought he was a cutie-pie in STXI, but now I must acknowledge that Chris Pine is really, really, REALLY hot!

While he won't replace McCoy/Karl Urban (who's more my type--and closer to my age) in my affections, I can nevertheless now wholeheartedly participate in the appreciation of Mr. Pine's attractiveness. Not that I didn't think he was hot as Kirk--this just shows that wasn't a flash in the pan, so to speak. The man oozes hotness.

^ When I saw Princess Diaries, I thought he did well and was strikingly handsome. When I found out that he was Robert Pine's son, I could totally see the resemblance.

I had the Princess Diaries DVD when I heard about Pine being cast as Kirk. I popped that thing in there and started rooting for him on the spot.

Oh, and Robert Pine during CHiPs. It's part 2 of 6, but I've noticed a lot of Robert's expressions match Chris' from ST. :D

Here are those wallpapers I was talking about.

They're all 1280x1024

And here's four more. If you'd like to have the first two without the words, just let me know. :)

Okay. Take part of my last post back. I will NOT have to spend time in Photoshop - someone else did already!

Excellent desktops, Captain Janeway. :techman:

Are you the artist? Cus if you are, you and I have gonna have to get together on a massive Pine Photoshop project! So far, I've only made a couple of avatars...but with some of the photos in this thread, I definitely hear Photoshop callin' my name!

Omg he was SO charming in the Princess Diaries! I absolutely loved the bit toward the end when she snuck out at night to be with him.

The only thing that I was bothered by in that movie was his hair. It was rather...big? Heh. I much prefer his Kirk look.

I agree, Doggeh--his hair was way too poofy. But his eyes, in the very last scene when he was wearing the blue suit? Even my husband went, "Wow, I didn't think his eyes were that blue." I think the masses of dark hair only accentuated them.

I also agree he was very charming. You can definitely see more maturity in his acting as Kirk, though. Of course, he wasn't required to be anything more than the cute love interest in PD2, but still. He's definitely improved with age.

Geeze, how much better can he get? By the time he's 40, he'll be downright dangerous! ;)

My favorite scene from PD2 is the archery scene; wow! Lucky, lucky girl!

M'Sharak, good eye, as usual; thanks. I will have to dig that Wild, Wild West episode out and take a look.

I also noticed at the IMDb that Robert Pine portrayed Ambassador Liria in VOY:The Chute and Captain Tavin of the Vulcan ship Vahklas in ENT:Fusion.

I hadn't realized that; it makes me smile! :D I dig "Fusion," especially.

Channel 56 down in Orange County was running the show weeknights for a while last year and that happened to be one of the eps I caught.

I hadn't been conscious of it when those originally aired, but I picked up on it later once I started finding online places like Memory Alpha which made it easier to connect dots like that. I still do that with people's IMDb filmography lists, though -- "Oh, he/she was in that?!" Linda Thorson was one example (though the makeup can partially excuse my not catching it right away.)

^ I will be getting to that Season 6 episode pretty soon; I'm currently rewatching STNG and am up to mid-Season 5 (today's ep: The Outcast).

If anyone in this thread cares, Chris Pine's movie Carriers opens in theaters on Sept. 4.

My god! I'm gone a week and where do i find Chris? ON page 2????
WTFITF???
